CHAVEZ, MAGDALENA age 93, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away at home with her family at her side. Mrs. Chavez is survived by her daughter, Ida Chavez and husband, Joe; sons, Joe P. Chavez and wife, Ramona, Simon Chavez and wife, Ezra; brother, Max Peralta and wife, Esther; eleven grandchildren; twenty-six great- grandchildren; two great-great- grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. BUENCONSEJO, FRANCES (BLEA) was born July 13, 1932 and died February 23, 2014 at the age of 81. She was born and raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico. During her life, she lived in or traveled to New Mexico, Hawaii, Japan, Hong Kong, Macau, the Philippine Islands, Florida, New Hampshire and Ohio. Frances was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Dolores Lopez; a brother, Louis Jr., and her infant daughter, Dolores Buenconsejo. She is survived by her ex-husband, Lino Buenconsejo, Jr.; her children, Lino III, Louis (Fran Medina), Dolores Buenconsejo-Kunz (Stephen Kunz), Bart (Laura Valdez), Bennett (Mark McKown), Marilyn Buenconsejo-Myers (David Myers); her siblings, Margaret Lopez, Thomas Lopez, Angelina Bahrmann, and Alberta Willet; her grandchildren, Jessica, Stephenie, Nicholas and Dominic; as well as other family members and friends who loved and will miss her. Frances would have been a great-grandmother in July 2014. Frances was the wife of an U.S. Air Force major, a mother and a seamstress for Levi Strauss. She also taught catechism. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Sangre de Cristo Catholic Church, 8901 Candelaria RD NE, Albuquerque, NM 87112 on Friday, February 28, 2014 at 9:00am. Inurnment will follow at Mt. BRADLEY, CARL DON NICHOLAS SR. Age 65, a longtime resident of Tres Piedras, NM passed away on February 20, 2014 at his ranch in Olmitz, Kansas. He was a self employed welder, mechanic, worked in the construction business, and owned and operated 6 X 6 Rodeo Company. He was especially known for raising bucking bulls. Carl was a member of the NMRA, CPRA, and the NIRA. His passions included hunting, fishing, and playing his bass guitar for the band, Country Pride. He is preceded in death by his father, John Carver Bradley, his daughter, Tammy Bradley and his sister, Emma Dean Bradley. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Ann Drake Bradley; his mother and step-father, Winifred (William) Roll; son, Donnie Bradley, Jr. (Tess); his daughters, Pamela Bradley and Cathy Canty (Blake); sisters, Geraldine Smith (Sam), Charlene Wheat, Julia Theeck (Clay) and Eunice Thichenor (Mike); foster son, Thomas Romeo (Elizabeth); brothers, Johnny Bradley (Diane) and Vaughn Bradley (Becky); his half brothers, Mark and Carver Panzer; 11 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 27, 2014 from 7- 9 PM at Rivera Chapel in Taos. BISKIS, EDWARD Edward G. Biskis, PhD, age 78, of Placitas, New Mexico passed away suddenly on Monday, February 24, 2014 due to complications of pancreatic cancer. Edward was born in Coaldale, PA on April 2, 1935 to Alice (Vitkauskas) and Edward R. Biskis. Upon graduation from Pennsylvania State University with a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Edward completed his Master's Degree at Cornell University. He went on to earn his Doctorate in Chemical Engineering from Northwestern University. Edward worked with NASA's Triton Missile Program in Colorado and held various executive positions with several major petrochemical corporations. In 1973, his entrepreneurial spirit led Edward to form his own company, BTU Contracts, an industrial gas distributor in the Chicago area. He was proud of the success of his venture, which enabled Edward to complete his goal of retiring at age 55. He enjoyed his retirement years serving on various corporate boards, fly fishing and traveling to all corners of the world with his loving wife. Edward is survived by his wife of 28 years, Jadvyga (Stirbys) of Placitas, NM; son Edward J. of IN; daughter Patricia (Jeffrey) Wright of Seattle, WA; Lina Sliazas of San Francisco, CA; Suzanne (Frank) Brizzolara of St. Charles, IL. Also, his beloved grandchildren Sarah Biskis, Ryan Biskis, Andrew Biskis, Alexander Wright, Daniel Wright and Will Otis Brizzolara. He was born in 1928 in Hayesville, IA and joined the United States Army in 1951 and served proudly during the Korean Conflict. Ralph was an avid fisherman and loved to bowl. Later he and Roberta enjoyed spending time on cruises and traveling across the United States in a motor home. Ralph was a member of Sandia Church of Christ. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather and will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Cremation has taken place and as per Ralph's wishes, no services will be held. TREIDER, W. DALE Your life was a blessing your memory a treasure... You are loved beyond words and missed beyond measure... Dale Treider, age 87, went to be with Jesus on February 22nd. Dale was born in Friona, Texas, on May 27, 1926 to George and Viola Treider. He graduated from Friona High School in 1944 with several academic and athletic scholarship offers. He served his country in the US Naval Intelligence Department in Washington, DC until July of 1946. Following that, he attended West Texas State College and the University of New Mexico where he completed his accounting degree. He was a longtime Albuquerque resident where he established a successful accounting firm in 1960, known as Treider & Co. During those years, he received an award from the New Mexico Society of CPA's as a 50-year member. He also served as committee chair in Rotary International. Having played basketball in high school and college, he was an avid Lobos fan. Dale was a dedicated family man and respected by many. He was preceded in death by Shirley Crist Treider, his wife of 47 years. Survivors include his beloved Dolores Rudolph from Las Vegas, New Mexico, and his two sons, Eric Treider and wife, Nelma of Soldotna, Alaska, and Kevin Treider and wife, Julie Borges, from Las Vegas, Nevada; Chris and Denise Barela and children of Las Vegas, NM. Grandchildren include, Jason Treider of New York, NY and Laura Treider of Albuquerque; Rainie Borges, Ivorie Treider from Las Vegas, Nevada; and Cayla Stutsman of Alaska. TEUPELL, KATE Age 99, passed away Sunday, February 23, 2014. She was born on March 8, 1914 in Ancho, New Mexico. She has gone to celebrate her 100th birthday in a glorious way, with God. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Teupell Sr.; sons Lawrence, Albert, and Ralph Jr.; daughter Peggy; brothers Andres "Ace" Gonzales and Ben Gonzales; sister, Martha Myers; great-great grandchildren, Lorenzo Teupell Jr., Sophia Denise Ware, and Salena Madrid. Kate is survived by her children Isabelle, Emma, George his wife Sally, Pete Saiz his wife Margaret, Fred, and Della her husband Joe. Kate is also survived by her grandchildren she raised, Hazel Sanchez her husband Art, Barbara Saiz and Ray Teupell. Granddaughter Jean Marie Madrid provided very special love and care to Kate and granddaughter Katie Tuepell always made sure Kate looked as beautiful outside as she was on the inside. She is also survived by many other grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and her sister Adalia Franco. Kate was an amazing woman with an infinite capacity for love. She never learned to read or write or drive a car, yet she always worked hard to provide for her family. She instilled strong values for her children to pursue their educations, to work hard, embrace integrity and believe in God. Anyone who knew Kate was blessed to know the true beauty of love. She will be greatly missed but will remain forever in the hearts of all who loved her. Kate, we will be rejoicing with you on your birthday, know that you are having the best birthday ever. STURTCMAN, RUSS Age 61, passed away early Monday morning, February 24th. He is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Shirley Sturtcman; his daughters, Michele Hicks and Krista Mireles; his son, Jose Mireles; his grandsons, Lucas Lucero, Daniel Mireles and Rylan Hicks; his loving sister-in-law, Gloria Candelaria; and brother-in-law, Byron Congleton. His brother, Bob; wife, Edna; and nephew, Robb Sturtcman of Taos, NM will miss him dearly. Russ had just lost his beautiful Mother, Lupe Sturtcman in 2013. Lupe and Harry Sturtcman raised Russ to be the musical, witty teacher that he was. He also leaves behind many loving cousins, aunts, and uncles who watched him grow into the amazing man he was. In 2012 Russ was able to find and reconnect with his biological twin sister, Sherry Correa, and her beautiful, loving family. They received him with such open arms, completing a chapter in his life and answering many unspoken questions that had lingered in his heart for years. This gave him such happiness and closure. It also opened doors for him to meet his brothers, Leroy Dimas, Duane Dimas, David Dimas, and Benny Dimas; and his sister, Nova Dimas and Donna Welty and their wonderful families as well. This brought a great deal of happiness to Russ. Russ was an Air Force Veteran and a retired teacher of 32 years. He committed himself to teaching the youth and helping rehabilitate many children in our community for years. He loved his sports - Go Cowboys!! He enjoyed golf, coached wrestling, and played as well as competed professionally in tennis. He will be remembered for his love of music, as he mastered the drums, and played in his brother, Bob's band as a young musician in the 60's - the Kreegs rocked!!! SEEGER, CHRISTINE A. Dr. Christine A. Seeger, born October 30, 1951, passed away on Sunday, February 23, 2014. She was preceded in death by her parents, Guy Boyd Seeger and Dorothy Helen Frost. She is survived by her son, Edward Satchel Seeger-Salman of Corrales, NM; sister, Leslie Kawek and brother-in-law Wayne Kawek, of Atlanta, GA. Dr. Seeger graduated from the University of Alabama in 1978 and did her residency at the San Francisco General Hospital, going on to serve as Chief Resident. During that time, she started a free program to provide psychiatric care for the homeless of San Francisco. Dr. Seeger practiced in New Mexico for 18 years. Over the last 14 years, she maintained her practice during her battles with cancer. She had a great love for her family and her work, and was a beloved member of Celebration Baptist Church in Rio Rancho, NM.

RIVERA, GUADALUPE REVEREND FR. Our beloved brother, uncle, friend, and Shepherd to many people, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, February 22, 2014. He was preceded in death by his parents Teofilo and Estanislada Rivera; brothers Manuel, George, and Ted Rivera; sisters Margaret Rivera, Barbara Dostalik, Julia Silva, and Sadie Padilla; and two nephews and one niece. Those left behind to cherish his memories are his sisters Jenny Romero and Marguerite Geissler (Henry); 34 nieces and nephews; and Florence Quintana, relative, friend and neighbor who, together with her mother, graciously and generously allowed Fr. Rivera to build his house upon their property. Since his retirement, Fr. Rivera was grateful and thankful for the love, care, and support given by Florence. Fr. Rivera was born on February 28, 1920 and raised in Sile, New Mexico. He was ordained on June 4, 1949, following studies at Lourdes School in Albuquerque and St. Thomas Seminary in Denver, Colorado. His career as a priest has been devoted to the northern part of New Mexico. His first assignment as a priest was June 27, 1949 as Parochial Vicar Protem at Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Las Vegas, NM. On October 22, 1949, he was appointed Parochial Vicar at the same parish. On May 1, 1950, he was appointed Administrator of Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish in Sapello and served until February 28, 1951, when he was appointed Administrator of St. Anthony's Church in Penasco. On January 1, 1954, he was appointed Pastor of the Parish, which he served until March 17, 1958, at which time he was appointed Pastor of San Juan Nepomuceno Church in El Rito. That assignment lasted until May 5, 1961, when he was assigned Pastor of Sacred Heart Parish in Nambe. In 1966, Archbishop James Peter Davis assigned him Pastor of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Pojoaque. While there, he was instrumental in building the new Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, rectory, and the youth and CCD centers in the Parish. In May 16, 1972, he was honored with appointment as Pastor of St. Anne Parish in Santa Fe. He was thrilled and honored to have served this Parish until his retirement. On January 17, 1992, permission was granted to retire by Archbishop Robert F. Sanchez and the Personnel Board from the Pastorship of St. Anne Parish, effective May 15, 1992. Other assignments were Archdiocesan Consultor in August of 1974 for three years. In September 1, 1977, he was reappointed Archdiocesan Consultor to a one year term. In December of 1989, he was appointed as a member to the Archdiocesan Personnel Board. Since his retirement, he had been blessed with good health and a very joyful and happy retirement. Occasionally, he assisted some of the pastors in the Archdiocese. He also enjoyed playing cards (CunCan), eating out with family and friends, reading, listening to music, and "visiting" the casinos. He will always be grateful and thankful for the love and support given to him by the Archbishops, Priests, Deacons, Sisters, Brothers, and the People of God. The challenges were many and the tasks not easy but working together and under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, his vocation as a priest was very fulfilling and a BLESSING. The family wishes to thank Annabelle Silva, Florence Quintana, and Orlinda Torres for the loving and compassionate care they provided to Father on a daily basis and caregivers Teresa Griego and Diane C. Perkins, for the tenderness and companionship provided this past year. A rosary will be held Thursday, February 27, 2014 at 7:00 p.m., with public visitation beginning at 6:30 p.m. at St. Anne Parish. A public visitation will be held on Friday, February 28, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. (on his birthday) where a Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. at The Cathedral Basilica of St. Francis of Assisi. Following the Mass, Fr. Rivera will be taken to his final resting place at Rosario Cemetery. A reception will follow at the Fr. Guadalupe Rivera Parish Hall at St. Anne Parish. MUCHMORE, THOMAS MILES Tom passed away in his sleep on February 22, 2014 and is now joyously dancing with the angels. Born March 8, 1924 in Lockland, Ohio to Miles and Marie Muchmore, Tom was the second oldest of five siblings. He proudly served his country as an Ensign in the U.S. Navy in the Pacific Theatre during World War II and after the war finished his degree at Ohio Wesleyan University in Delaware, Ohio. There he met and married Joan McLaughlin and they had two sons, Chuck and Doug. Tom sold cars until 1950 in Ohio when he and Joan moved their young family to Tucson. There Tom became the Sales Manager for Paulin Motor Company, selling Oldsmobiles and Cadillacs. A born salesman, Tom received numerous sales awards from General Motors and was asked to write their national sales program. In 1954 Tom was hired by Hickum Galles to be the sales manager of Galles Oldsmobile and Cadillac in Albuquerque, N.M., where he worked for eight years. In 1962 Tom started working in the real estate business with Coda Roberson (Paradise Hills) and soon opened his own firm, The Muchmore Company, which he operated until the mid '80's. His was the second largest real estate company in the state and the first to become computerized with an IBM card punch card sorter that took up an entire room. Tom continued working in real estate and land development until 2011. In 1963 Tom married the love of his life, Cyd, and together they raised their blended family of five children, then ranging in age from 6 to 12. Tom and Cyd moved to Scottsdale, AZ. in 1999 and enjoyed many years of golf, travel and family visits. Tom was predeceased by his parents and his brother,Charlie, and is survived by his wife, Cyd, sons Chuck (Leslie) and Doug, stepsons Steve and Brad Sumption, stepdaughter Kim Cowdrey (John), grandchildren Kelly Muchmore, Milessa Muchmore Lowrie (Jed), David Cowdrey (Anna), Shealee Ferguson (Dan), great grandchildren Connor Muchmore and Saige Lowrie, sisters Jean Wise, Betty Reiling and Dorothy Beshears and numerous nieces and nephews. Tom was a wonderful husband, father and friend and will be very deeply missed. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, February 27 at 2:00 p.m. at Greenwood Mortuary, 719 N. 27th Avenue, Phoenix. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to Wounded Warriors Project, PO Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675 in Tom's memory.

LEYBA, ROY Age 88, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully at his home, Monday, February 24, 2014. He was a lifelong resident of Pena Blanca, NM, where Roy was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. He was also a member of the Society of San Jose in Galisteo. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rafael and Marianita S. Leyba; son, Michael Leyba; and siblings, Ramon, Gerald and Imelda Leyba. Roy is survived by his wife of 67 years, Flora Leyba; his children, Robert Leyba and wife Hilia, Carla Lucero and husband Peter, Ramona Leyba; eight grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are his sisters, Rosalita Silva, Eloisa Leyba, Corine Moore, and Sarah Sanchez; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Roy will be greatly missed by his loving family and by those whose hearts he touched. The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the family, friends, and especially to Donna Herrera for all their help during their father's illness. A Rosary will be recited Saturday, March 1, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Pena Blanca, NM, where the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Inurnment will follow at the Pena Blanca Community Cemetery.
