WIGHT, GAIL Gail Ann Wight, beloved sister of Mary Wight, Allen Wight and Rose Dixon, drifted over the rainbow on March 4, 2014. Gail was born August 10, 1946, in Mishawaka, Indiana. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Harry and Rose Wight. Besides her siblings, survivors include many nieces and nephews as well as her friends and family at Advocacy Partners and Amigo Case Management. Gail will be remembered for her happy laugh, love of diet coke, Wizard of Oz and Reese's Peanut Butter Cups. TURPEN, ROBERT DALE Robert Dale Turpen, age 78, of Albuquerque, NM, passed away on March 7, 2014 in Albuquerque, NM. Robert was born March 21, 1935 in Plevna, Kansas. He had retired as a Conductor after 42 years of service with the AT&SF Railroad and had been a 50 year member of the Chapman Masonic Lodge, No. 2. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Twila Faye; his son, Roy Dale; daughters, Becky Lynn Gonzales, Mary Elaine Lutes and Tommi Leigh Rogers; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. A Service to Celebrate Robert's life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at Christ United Methodist Church, 6200 Gibson Blvd SE, Albuquerque, NM, 87108. SHULL, A. DOLORES Dolores Shull, age 85, passed away on Thursday, March 6th at Mercy Medical Center in Roseburg, Oregon with family at her side. She is survived by her daughter, Vickie Lois Thayer and husband Tris of Roseburg, OR; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Mrs. Shull was preceded in death by her daughter Carole Jean Lafreniere, and husband Robert Lee Shull. Private memorial services will be held at a later date. She had a great love for her family and animals and will be greatly missed.

PETTIS, ROSE In Loving Memory Rose was born in Albuquerque on Aug. 18, 1935. She went to meet her Lord on March 7, 2014. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Ray Pettis; daughter Virginia Dyer and husband David; daughter Ellen Dorman of Idalou, TX; son Elton Pettis and wife Brenda of Tijeras; Buck Pettis and wife April of Atlanta, GA; and 13 grandchildren; ten great- grandchildren. Rose was preceded in death by her parents Marion and Lewis Nicolls, grandson Stephen Dyer, two brothers Eustis and Frank Nicolls. The joy of her life was her family and grandchildren. Service will be held at Trinity Family Church, 6101 Paradise Blvd. NW on March 11, 2014 at 10:00am. Burial will follow at Sunset Cemetery.

MERONEY, WILLIAM &Quot;BILL&Quot; J. William "Bill" J. Meroney, age 71, a resident of Albuquerque since 1997, died Friday, March 7, 2014, with his family by his side. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Sandra; children, Daniel Meroney, Cynthia Meroney, and Shelby Richardson and husband, David; grandchildren, Betty May Meroney and Joshua, Bridget and Katie Richardson; siblings, James P. Meroney, Jr. Nancy Shimer, Martha Kay Robb, and Sandra Wiggen, and their families; and other relatives and friends. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, James P. Meroney, Sr. and Juanita Thompson Patch. He was born in 1942 in Gainesville, TX, and graduated from high school in Pine Bluffs, WY. He moved to Southern California in 1965 where he met Sandra Ohnstad and they were married on February 3, 1968. He worked in quality assurance for several companies, retiring from Boeing in 2005. Family was Bill's top interest and he loved taking trips to visit family. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother and will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on Thursday, March 13, 2014, at 7:00 p.m. at FRENCH - Lomas. LOVATO, LOURDES &Quot;LINDA&Quot; Went to be with our Lord on Friday, March 7th. She was born in Albuquerque, NM on March 11, 1954. She was preceded in death by her father Leopoldo Garcia and mother Margarita Garcia. Sisters, Dorella Garcia, and Eufemia Escamilla. She is survived by her son Eddie Lovato and wife Belinda; grandsons, Edward Lovato and wife Sasha, and Randy Lovato; brother, Ignacio Garcia; her sisters, Trini Muniz, Cleo Barnard, & Regina Montoya; many nieces and nephews. A Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, March 12th at 10:00 am at Santo Toribio Catholic Church in Ponderosa, NM. Burial will follow at the Ponderosa Cemetery. Linda will be greatly missed by all that loved her.

JENSEN, ELOF BERNHARDT JR. known by friends and family as Junior, age 87, passed away on Friday, March 7, 2014. He was born in Dilkon, Arizona. Later he served as a Motor Machinists Mate Third Class USNR - V-6 during World War II. Following the war he worked for Ross Bayer, Wilson & Co., and Inter West Ltd. During his free time, Elof enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening as well as baseball. He was a pitcher for fast pitch baseball, played for many years as well as mentoring others in the game. Elof is survived by his wife of 49 years, Bernice Jensen; sister, Anna Marie Beardsley; daughters, Jane Gutierrez, Susan Jensen, Paticia Romero, and Angela Denise Jensen (Gonzales). He was also a grandfather to Tammy, Robin, Lawrence, Anita, Trisha, Brandon, Chris, Marcus, Addam, Andres, Adrian and Ayanna. Elof was a great-grandfather to 20 great- grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind many other loving family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elof Bernardt Jensen Sr., Inez Barton; step-father, Onez Smith; son, Gregory Mark Jensen; and his brothers, Elof Walker Jensen and Jack Jensen. A Memorial Rosary will be held on Wednesday, March 12, 2014, 7:00 p.m., at the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, 9502 4th St. NW. A Memorial Mass will be held on Thursday, March 13, 2014, 9:00 a.m., at the Church. HINMAN, DORIS Doris Hinman, 103, passed away on Saturday, March 8, 2014 at Twin Oaks Assisted Living. A bright star will be shining in the heavens tonight. Doris Frieda Hemphill was born in Joplin, Missouri to parents, Freddie Mae Hemphill and Dorma Elizabeth Thompson on May 3, 1910. When she was six, she left Missouri with her parents and younger sister, Nadine, and traveled to Colorado by horse and buggy. Doris and Charles Edward Hinman were married in 1933, settled in Albuquerque, NM in 1949 and raised their two daughters, Kay and Joyce. She attended St. Joseph's Catholic Teacher's College to earn her elementary education degree while being a homemaker and young mother. After graduation, she began her career and was passionate in teaching her first graders how to read. It is estimated that she taught 600 students during the next 30 years in APS. She was happiest when teaching someone, whether it be reading, sewing or adding and subtracting. Any free time she had was spent being a 4-H leader, gardening, and traveling in their Airstream. Doris was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Edward in 2002. She is survived by her daughters, Marilyn Kay Kitts (Jim) and Marian Joyce Coffey (Bill); grandchildren, James Tracey Kitts, Jolene Reed (David), Jodi Guerin (John), Teri Coffey, and Brian Coffey (Anne Bonds); great-grandsons, James Trent Kitts, and Shepard and Tuker Guerin; and great-granddaughters, Eliza and Hazel Bonds-Coffey. Services will be a private celebration of Doris' life and will take place at a later date. Doris' wishes, to have no formal service, are being honored. FERTIG, WALTREEN (WADDIE) ARDELLE NEE SCHERTZ died peacefully March 7 at home in Rio Rancho, NM. Waddie was born June 27, 1931 to Walter and Katie Schertz in La Junta, CO. She is survived by her daughter, Jane; son-in-law Steve Paternoster; her two beloved grandsons, Jackson and Jameson; sisters Kay S. McMann of Rio Rancho, and Marianne (Bob) Stauffer of Chipita Park, CO; special nieces and nephews: Gregg (Dee) McMann, Lorie (Bill) Julander, Darris (Susan) Stauffer, Barry (Jana) Stauffer, and Robyn (Darrin) Skur; along with many great-nieces and nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, John (Jack) Fertig; her granddaughter, Haley Paternoster; her niece, Kellie McMann Meredith. Waddie graduated from La Junta High School and the College of Emporia, KS. Upon graduation she was employed as JC Hall's Executive Assistant at Hallmark Cards in Kansas City, KS. Years later, Waddie met Jack Fertig, married in 1968 and moved with him to Marin County, CA, then settled in Santa Barbara until Jack's retirement in 1989. They moved to Rio Rancho and Waddie became very active in Rio Rancho Presbyterian Church; PEO; Women's Club of West Mesa; Sandoval/ Bernalillo Republican Women; Rio Rancho Kiwanis, and Storehouse West. She gave of herself so willingly with her time and her resources and will long be remembered as a very generous, loving and gracious woman. DOTY, JAMES R. Age 55, a resident of Albuquerque, died February 27, 2014 following a long illness. He was predeceased by his father, George. He is survived by his mom, Frances Doty of Albuquerque; brother Ray and wife, Merry, of Tulalip, WA; brother Charles and wife, Peggy, of Hampton, VA; brother Joe and wife, Pat, of Apex, NC, brother David and wife, Blair, of Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam; and brother Leo and wife, Toni, of Stow OH. James' nieces and nephews are Phoebe, Abby, Maria, Katherine, Joseph, Reece, Darryl, Patrick, Trey and Taylor. He is survived by numerous cousins and his uncle, Larry Wiese, and aunt, Rosie Cole of Fort Worth, TX. James was a member of San Ignacio Parish, though he attended Annunciation Parish growing up. He proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps, loved God, his family, his friends, and his country. His day wasn't complete until he finished the crossword puzzle or the jumble. When his health began to fail, his favorite pastime was playing scrabble with his mom. We would like to give a special thanks to the wonderful staff at the VA Hospital, the tireless and empathetic care shown by St. Theresa's Health Care, and all who held James in their prayers. She was the last of 16 brothers and sisters. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank; her mother, Maria San Juan; her father, Manuel Sanchez y Castillo; and granddaughters: Lori and Denise. Tillie is survived by her son Steve and wife Barbara, daughter Christine, son Edward and wife Karen; sister-in-law, Nora Sanchez; grandchildren: Angela and husband Larry, Mike and wife Lisa, Mark Archibeque, Lisa and husband Curtis, Diane and husband Adrian; her great-grandchildren: Brandon, Brian, Vanessa, Kevin, Gracie, Addison, Bryce, Alicia, and Carson; and great-great-granddaughter Jazlene. She was born in Jarales, NM, and raised in the Barelas area. She was married to her husband, Frank for 53 years. She was a devout Catholic and past member of the Eucharistic League and past member of Post 79. She was known for her beautiful flowers and her green thumb. She loved to bowl, taught herself to crochet, and she loved to dance and talked endlessly of the Old Town dances she attended. She raised canaries and frequently visited the casinos with her husband. Tillie's Life Celebration will begin on Wednesday with a Visitation at 6:15 p.m. followed by a 7:00 p.m. Rosary at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church (1860 Griegos NW 87107.) ALEXANDER, STANLEY GENE (MATT) On January 26, 2014, Matt took his music to the afterlife. His last wish was for all of his friends and family to turn on some music and raise a glass in his name. To honor this wish, a tribute to Matt and his music will be held on Thursday, March 13th, 5:30pm at Molly's Bar in Tijeras. Matt donated his body to research so this will be the only opportunity to gather and share stories. He was born on July 30, 1948. He graduated from Sandia H.S., attended UNM and pursued many business endeavors. Trinidad was a friend to all and loved by many. He is survived by ten siblings: Orland (Margo) Rivera of Seattle, WA, Toby (Beatrice) Garcia, Barbara Garcia-Rios, Fred (Barbara) Garcia, Elena (Charles) Montoya, Terry (Steve) Kopcak, John Garcia, Sam (Susan) Garcia, Peter (Faith) Garcia, Antoinette (Bill) Kirikos. His treasured stepchildren Rebecca (Leroy) Martinez and children, Patricio and Marisol, & John Alderete. He is also survived by his son's mother, Carol Sandoval and former spouse, Sandra Wessgar.
