ACOYA, JOAN MILBOURNE Joan Elaine Milbourne Acoya, age 82, of Albuquerque, died February 27, 2014, after a short illness. Joan was born in Toledo, OH, on November 7, 1931. She received a degree from both the Chicago Art Institute and the University of New Mexico. Joan was an illustrator at the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. She continued creating her artwork for family and friends throughout her life. Joan was an active member of Sister Cities, and also enjoyed sharing the culture, art, and history of the local Pueblo Indians. She was an accomplished cook, and enjoyed sharing old and new recipe creations with her loved ones. Joan loved animals, having cared for a multitude of pets throughout her life. Joan was also an active member of the Shepherd of the Valley Presbyterian Church. Joan is survived by her son Wendell and grandson Matthew, of Corona, CA; nephew Marc Duchessois, or Chicago, IL; niece Stephanie Smith, of Ketchum, ID; grandniece Kirsten Baldridge, of Syracuse, NY. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations in her honor to your local animal shelter. Memorial services to be held at Shepherd of the Valley at 10:00 am, Saturday, March 15, 2014.

WYRICK, CHRISTA JULIE LEE age 32, passed away Friday, February 28th. Christa is survived by her sister April; her brother Damion; and her two children, Ricardo and Chloe. WALLACE, KENNETH LEON May 23, 1928 - February 13, 2014 Ken went to his final resting place on February 13, 2014; he has been reunited with the love of his life in time to celebrate Valentine's Day. Ken was raised in East Sumner, Maine, raised his family in Tappan, New York and enjoyed his retirement in Sun City, AZ. In October 2012 Ken moved to Albuquerque, NM to be near his devoted daughter Deb and husband Lynn when he could no longer live on his own. We will be forever grateful for the outstanding care and love he received by the entire staff of the Montebello Assisted Living Home. Ken was preceded in death by his grandparents and parents, his beloved wife Janet (Tompkins) 1987, daughter Laura (Wallace) Kelm 2001, great-granddaughter Elizabeth Dotson 2001, brothers Richard Wallace (2011) and Robert Wallace (2012). Survived by his devoted daughter Debbie (Wallace) Ebbesen and husband Lynn of Albuquerque NM; son-in-law Gene Kelm; grandchildren Lou Dotson, Ty Tricoglou, Kara Kelm; great-grandchildren: Johnny Dotson, Lucas Dotson, Angelique Dotson and Viola Tricoglou. He is also survived by his daughter Cindy and her three children. Visitation will be Friday, March 28th, 2:00-4:00 pm and 7:00-9:00 pm at Pizzi Funeral Home, Northvale, NJ. Deb and Lynn will honor Ken with a Celebration of Life Service on Saturday, March 29th at 12 noon at Pizzi Funeral Home, Northvale, NJ. Ken will be laid to rest with his wife at 1:00pm on Saturday, March 29 in the Tappan Cemetery, Tappan, NY.

STRINGER, JEAN J. Age 92, passed away Thursday, March 6, 2014. She was born in Cincinnati, OH on August 4, 1921, to William and Ethel McIntyre. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Bert L. Stringer Jr. Jean is survived by daughters, Gay Henderson, Joyce L. (Don) Powers, Sue A. Hancock, Lois J. Cook, all of Albuquerque, NM; fourteen grandchildren; twenty four great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She has been a resident of Albuquerque since 1956. Jean was an avid and awesome bridge player, enjoyed bowling and loved caring for her family. STARK, ALICE A. Alice Allaire Stark, 92 and a resident of Albuquerque since 1965, passed away on Thursday, March 13, 2014. Born in Spring Lake, NJ, July 2, 1921 to John Albert Marks and Ethel Estelle Wells, she grew up on the Jersey shore, graduating from Asbury Park High School in 1938. She worked for the Jersey Central Power and Light Company in Allenhurst before marrying, then served in the Womens Army Corps during World War II. After the war, she moved around the country with her family, raising six children. Alice later worked for the Selective Service System and at Eldorado High School, ultimately retiring from the US Army Corps of Engineers, Albuquerque District in 1989. She was active in the Episcopal Church, American Business Womens Association, and NARFE. Alice was preceded in death by her husband, Louis Kenneth Stark, in 1974. She is survived by her daughters, Patricia Eads and Beth Stark-Hoeke of Albuquerque and Joanne Stark of Carbondale, CO; her sons, Michael Stark and Lee Stark of Albuquerque and Jon Stark of San Jose, CA; five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and many kids of all ages who knew her simply as "Gram". A visitation will be held on Monday, March 17, 2014 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00pm at FRENCH - University. A service will be held on Tuesday, March, 18, 2014, at 5:00 p.m., at St. Thomas of Canterbury Episcopal Church, 425 University Blvd. NE, with the Rev. Dr. Lin Lilley officiating. Interment will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery on Wednesday, March 19, 2014. RUST, NILA MARIE Nila Marie Rust, 92, left us Wednesday morning March 12, 2014 to be with her beloved Lord. Nila led an amazing life. She was born Nila Marie Minnich in Terra Haute Indiana on October 26, 1921. In her early adult life she met and married James Rust; they spent many years farming in Indiana. Nila and her husband moved to Albuquerque in 1959 where Nila worked on her second career at the First National Bank. Upon retirement Nila and James embarked on a third eight year career as volunteers to the Mobile Missionaries Assistance Program. MMAP is an organization that provides volunteer labor for construction of buildings and other facilities for churches and worthy charities. Nila had a very full and productive life. Nila is survived by two children, Carolyn (Rusty) Mason and husband Jim of Albuquerque and Kenneth Rust and wife Edwina of Oakridge Tennessee. Nila was proud of her 12 Grandchildren Including Mona Koerner and husband Wesley, Krista Park and husband Todd, Mitch Mason and wife Mahina, Ericka Powers and husband Dusty, Jeremiah Rust, Adria Rust, Mikah Rust and wife Casey, Robert Rust, Dana Rust and wife Julie, Audrey Rust, Joshua Rust, and Ira Rust. Nila has seven Great Grandchildren who referred to her as Grandma Great; they include Noelani Mason, Kale'a Mason, Logan Koerner, Kawena Mason, Mahealani Mason, and twins Makaio Mason and Maui Mason. Nila also is survived by siblings Eddie Minnich, LuAda Eddington and Raymond Minnich and many nieces and nephews. Nila was preceded in death by James Ellis Rust, her husband of 56 years and sisters Rosemary Neal and Eileen Hill. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, March 15, 2014, 10:00 a.m. at Sandia Baptist Church, 9429 Constitution Ave NE where Nila was an active member. Nila's final resting will be next to her beloved husband at Bayfield cemetery in Bayfield, Colorado. Burial is expected Monday March 17, 2014. PAUL, FREDERICA &Quot;FREDDIE&Quot; February 25, 1926 - March 9, 2014 Beloved wife, stepmother, grandmother, aunt and friend, Frederica "Freddie" Paul died Sunday, March 9, 2014 after a month-long illness. She is survived by her husband, Howard C. Paul of Albuquerque, and three stepchildren, Kathy Paul (Seattle), Howard Paul Jr. (Houston), and S. Eric Paul (Houston). Freddie was the proud and loving grandmother of four grandchildren, Adam Byrd, Stephen Byrd, Bryan Paul and Carolyn Paul. Freddie was born on a farm in Mount Airy, Virginia on February 25, 1926. She was the daughter of Fred and Hallie Stone. She was predeceased by her two sisters, Virginia Snavely of Waynesboro, Virginia and Hallie Marie Stone Nuckols Oakes, of Mount Airy, Virginia. Freddie graduated from Radford College (now Radford University) in 1947. She taught social studies and coached basketball for four years, and then worked in the Personnel Department at Thalheimer's Department Store in Richmond, Virginia and at an insurance company. In 1958 she went on to work at The Bank of Virginia, where for 21 years, she was executive secretary to a bank Vice President who eventually became President and then Chairman of the Board. Freddie married Howard Paul on June 4, 1979 in Richmond, Virginia and moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico. A loving Christian, Freddie was active in women's work and Bible study at La Mesa Presbyterian Church. She was an avid reader. Following Howard's retirement, Freddie and Howard traveled extensively, visiting over 60 countries on five continents. Freddie was a gracious hostess, opening her home to visitors from all over the United States, and to many Presbyterian brothers and sisters from Cuba. She loved discovering new parts of New Mexico and enjoyed introducing guests to her adopted state. Freddie was kind, compassionate, generous and caring. She was much loved and will be missed by all who knew her. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, March 15, 2014, 11:00 a.m. at La Mesa Presbyterian Church, 7401 Copper NE, Albuquerque, NM 87108. MONTOYA, ANGELA PATRICIA Angela Patricia Lovato Montoya, age 50, of Albuquerque, died of Ovarian Cancer on Saturday, March 8, 2014. She was born to Lucy Lovato and the late Joe Lovato, Oct. 11, 1963, in Oakland, CA. Angela graduated from Cibola High School in 1981. Angela was a 26 year employee at Los Palomas Rehab and Health. She had many friends from her time there and had touched them with her loving personality, willingness to help others, and her amazing sense of humor. She was known for her many jokes and pranks. Angela is survived by her only son, Joe Martinez; daughter-in-law Shilo Martinez; two grandchildren, Vincent Martinez and Zoey Martinez. She is also survived by her mother, Lucy Lovato; three brothers, Sam Lovato, Dr. J Mario Lovato, and Martin Lovato; sister-in-law, Judith Lovato. As well as her nieces and nephews: Anjuli, Audrey, Misio, Gabriella, Mia, Kristi and Michael. WARNACK, AILEENE M. Aileene Wotton Warnack - Aileene was born on August 7, 1926 and passed away peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, March 9, 2014. She was preceded in death by first husband, Ray Wootton, and husband of 39 years, Dave Warnack in 2012. She is survived by, daughter, Raylene Kinkade; her son, Chris (sons Kyle and Cameron) and daughter Gina (daughters Alyssa and Sierra); daughter and son-in-law Kay and John Leslie (daughter and son-in-law Allison and Will Keelin and their son, Hunter), and Dave's loving family: Raymond Roybal (Beth) of Jacksonville, Fl, Dave (Delfina) and Linda Boucher (Paul) of Silver City, Donald (Budietta) of Albuquerque, and Richard (Yoli) of Corpus Christy, TX and their children grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews, including Jerry Whitfield who was very special to her. Aileene was a homemaker who loved cooking and could always be expected to bring something really good to all the potlucks she and Dave attended. She was an excellent pie-maker and seamstress. She loved making costumes and something-out-of-nothing crafts and playing cards and dominoes. She was Purple Hatter and a very active member of Elks Lodge #461 Ladies Auxiliary for many years . The family wishes to thank her wonderful and loving caretakers whom she called "my girls" - Trish Davis, Lynne Cox, Sharron Patterson, Geneva Oldfield and Brittany Divett and her Ambercare nurses. At her request, there will be no services. Memorials should be made to the charity of your choice but the Roadrunner Food bank or any Veterans Organization were her preferences.
