DAVENPORT, ROBERT &Quot;ED&Quot; Robert "Ed" Davenport, age 51, a resident of Moriarty, NM, passed away on Wednesday, March 26, 2014 in Moriarty, NM. He was preceded in death by both his parents: Robert Lee Davenport and Marcia Mae Cox. He is survived by his wife, Monique Davenport of Moriarty, NM. As well as, many loving family members and friends. A celebration of Robert's life will be held on Friday, April 4, 2014 from 1:30 pm to 3:30 pm at the Moriarty Lions Club in Moriarty, NM. BUCHEN, JOHN Age 89, a resident of Los Alamos, passed away at home on Friday, March 28, 2014. John was born in Denver, CO on June 5, 1924 to Frank and Rose Guadanola Buchen. He was preceded in death by his son, Jerry Buchen; granddaughter, Sarah Buchen and sisters, Margaret and Annabelle. Mr. Buchen is survived by Barbara, his loving wife of 67 years; his children, Terry (Jim) Hoffman, Katy (Frank) Fuchs, Tony Buchen, Tina Buchen; daughter-in-law, Lynne Buchen; five grandchildren; and four great- grandchildren. He served in the Navy at Wright Field and taught radar at Navy Pier. He received his degree in electrical engineering at Colorado University and was elected to Eta Kappa Nu. He worked for GE in Marblehead, Mass before coming to Los Alamos National Lab in 1949. He participated in Operation Ivy at Eniwetok Atoll in 1952. He then worked mostly at CMB7 and E division. After retirement in 1983 he consulted for NEST. He was named a Los Alamos Living Treasure in 2006. He lived his life with gratitude and always offered his time and talents to better his community. Among some of his volunteer activities were his children's schools, East Park Pool, Jemez House, Sombrillo, and the Senior Condo. He also was active in the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church. He sang in the choir for 30 years, was chairman of the first Parish Council, and was a Eucharistic Minister. He enjoyed camping, travel, photography, everything electronic, and working with stained glass (He made several panels at IHM). A rosary will be recited on Thursday, April 3, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Los Alamos with a memorial Mass to be celebrated immediately after at 11:00 a.m. Donations may be made to the Christian Concern Committee at IHM or to the Los Alamos Visiting Nurses. STAHL, WANDA M. An Albuquerque resident since 1961, died March 28, 2014 at age 89. She is survived by son, the Rev. Michael Stahl of Ft. Sumner; her daughter, Meta Williams and her son-in-law, George Williams of Albuquerque; a grandson, Jeremy Williams of Oklahoma City; sisters-in-law, Helen Marine of Aiken, SC, Mildred Stahl of Morris, IL, and Doris Stahl, of Deland, FL; brother-in-law, Malcolm Stahl of Deland, FL; as well as multiple nieces and nephews. Mrs. Stahl was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald; her parents, Ira and Mattie Marine; and her brother Wendell. She was active in Asbury United Methodist Church for many years. She especially enjoyed caring for infants at Asbury's Mother's Day Out. She was active in the League of Women Voters for many years on local and state levels, and volunteered as a poll worker in many elections. Mrs. Stahl was born and raised in Washington, DC and worked as a civilian at the Pentagon in WWII. She graduated from American University with a BA in library science. SENA, ALBERT WWII VETERAN Albert Sena, known as "Al" to his family and friends, was born on December 24, 1924 and passed away on March 29, 2014. Survived by daughters, Dottie Melendez and husband John, Dianna Flores and husband Sam; sons Steven Sena and wife Lanorra, James Sena and wife Lorie; 13 grandchildren; six great- grandchildren; and one great-great- granddaughter. He is also survived by his siblings, Mary Sanchez and Gabriel Sena; as well as many nieces & nephews. Al also leaves behind long time friends, Lee Tobar & Alberto Salcudo. Services will be held at Holy Rosary Catholic Church (5415 Fortuna Rd NW) to celebrate his life on Thursday, April 3, 2014 at 10:15 am. Private interment will take place in Santa Rosa, NM at St. Joseph's Cemetery.

SANCHEZ, GERALD SIGILFREDO Gerald S. Sanchez, amazing husband, father, son, brother, uncle, godfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on Wednesday morning, March 26, 2014 at the age of 51 after living a happy and fulfilled life with his wife Rachel, their children Mariah and Andres and their family dog Dylan, along with his loving family. Gerald is survived by both his parents and his in-laws: Sigilfredo and Virginia Sanchez and Max and Christina Ortiz. Gerald enjoyed all his brothers and sisters by both birth and marriage: Michael and Bernadette Sanchez, Kathy and Michael Fernandez, Greg and Vincenza Sanchez, Jessica and Ronnie Atencio, Rick Sanchez, Joseph Sanchez, and Maximiliano Ortiz. Gerald is also survived by his many Aunts, Uncles, cousins, godchildren: Clarissa Fernandez, Amber Gonzales, and Lorenzo Villanueva III, as well as many nieces and nephews: Amber ,Kael, Alyssa, Santiago, Jax, Jason, Patricia, Antonio, Alana, Sofia, Gabrielle, Phillip, Clarissa, Miranda, Jacob, Isabella and Gabriella, all loved by him and loved in return. He shared a very special bond with his cousin Lawrence Villanueva II and best friends Michael Gonzales and Curtis Brown as well as his abundance of friends. Throughout the years Gerald made many friendships while working at the Albuquerque Publishing Company for 31 years where he was employed as a Manager in the Circulation Department after starting off as a driver. Gerald was a very dedicated and loyal employee. He's many opinions and suggestions were always valued and for that he was much appreciated. Gerald enjoyed fishing, 4-wheeling and hanging out with his family and friends at "The Cabin". He loved to sing but most enjoyed playing classic rock with his Fender Stratocaster guitar that he handmade. Gerald's quick wit, unsurpassable sense of humor and talent will be greatly missed. His smile was always at the ready and his love for perfection was evident in all he created. We humbly return him to the Father with gratitude for the special time we had together. A Rosary and Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, April 3 beginning at 10:30 a.m. at St Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church, located at 5612 Paradise Blvd NW, Albuquerque, NM 87114.

OTERO, PRISCILLA THERESA (PAT) 1/28/1929-03/28/2014 Passed away on Friday, March 28, 2014 at the age of 85. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl J. Otero; father, Juan D. Baca; mother, Romanita (Sanchez) Baca; and brothers, Ben, David, Ray, and Joe Baca. Pat was born into a large family of 12, 6 boys and 6 girls. She is survived by her sisters, Dorothy Sanchez, Sara Kropp, Martha and husband, Bert J. Terrazas, Ida and husband, Louis Chavez, and Mary Nilsen; brothers, Max Baca, and John and wife, Mary Louise Baca. Pat has many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. Pat graduated from Albuquerque High School in 1948, later attended Browning Commercial School and The University of New Mexico. Pat was employed by Presbyterian Hospital, The Santa Fe Railroad Hospital, and then the University of New Mexico. She held various administration positions during her years of employment and thoroughly enjoyed her work. Pat and her husband retired at a young age and enjoyed traveling all over the US and abroad. After some time traveling, they retired to El Paso, Texas. They lived in El Paso for about 25 years. Pat and her husband fell ill and were moved back to Albuquerque by her brother John. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to the Alzheimer's Association in honor of Priscilla Otero. A Memorial Rosary will be recited Thursday, April 3, 2014, 7:00 p.m., at FRENCH - University. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated Friday, April 4, 2014, 11:00 a.m., at St. Charles Borromeo Church, 1818 Coal Pl. SE. Pallbearers will be Chuck Sanchez, Gary Chavez, John A. Baca, and Isidore Baca. HILL, JAMES RAY &Quot;JIM&Quot; James Ray "Jim" Hill passed away on March 29, 2014 at the age of 81. Born on August 5, 1932 in Arp, TX, Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Moddrell Franklin and Fannie Mae (Ragsdale), two sisters and one brother. As faithful husband and devoted father, Jim is survived by his wife of 56 years, Dorothy Faye (Coconaugher); and their two children, Kevin Mark of Cleveland, OH, and Kenda Kay of Lewes, DE. Having grown up in a farming community, Jim graduated from Arp High School in 1950 before moving to Dallas, TX to pursue employment. From 1952-1954 Jim served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Before and after his military service, Jim worked for the Kinney Shoe Corporation in Texas; Tulsa, OK; Albuquerque, NM; Portland, OR; and New York, NY. Jim's impressive career of 42 years with Kinney Shoes culminated in his position as Senior Vice President of Retail Budgets in the corporate offices of the Woolworth Building in New York City. As a longtime resident of East Windsor, NJ, Jim's service to the church community included leadership within the First Baptist Church of Hightstown and the New Jersey Baptist Convention. Following his retirement, Jim and Faye returned to Albuquerque in 1999 where they resumed valuable fellowship at Eastern Hills Baptist Church. Services will be held on Wednesday, April 2, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Eastern Hills Baptist Church, 3100 Morris St. NE, Albuquerque. GARCIA, HILARIO SR., &Quot;LARRY&Quot; Passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, March 29, 2014 at his home. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Mamie Garcia; children, David P. Garcia, Debbie Garcia, Phil Garcia and Deann Baines and her husband Rob; grandchildren, A.J., Crystal, Lauren, Vanessa, Joshua, K.C. and Victoria; great-grandchildren, Devlin, Ellie and Mila; brother, Richard Garcia (Margaret); sisters, Alda Padilla and Carmen Garcia (Richard); brother-in-law, Antonio "Tony" Zamora and sister-in-law, Juanita Gurule. Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Bernardino and Anita Garcia; son, Hilario Garcia "Little Larry", Jr. and brother, Bernardino Garcia, Jr. Larry was a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, and retired from Sandia National Labs after 37 years. He served in the United States Army for four years and was a medic in the infantry. He fought in the Korean War. During his lifetime, Larry was involved in the Knights of Columbus, the American Legion, St. Vincent de Paul Society and LULAC. He was an active parishioner of The Shrine of St. Bernadette before becoming a member of Risen Savior Catholic Community. Larry was a loving husband, a loving and devoted father, grandfather and great-grandfather, and will be greatly missed. Friends may visit on Sunday, April 6, 2014 beginning at 4:00 p.m. with the Rosary being recited at 5:00 p.m. at FRENCH - Wyoming. CHRANE, MARY ANN GRIEGO Was born April 29, 1937 and went to be with our Lord peacefully on March 28, 2014. She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Vicenta Martinez; father, Paul Griego; mother, Eliza Griego; and brother, Leopoldo (Sonny) Griego. She is survived by her two children, Valerie Chrane, and Steve Chrane. She is also survived by Aunts, Uncles, and cousins on the Valencia side. She grew up in Lamy, NM and attended school in Stanley and graduated from Santa Fe High School. She moved to Albuquerque where she raised her family and was a caregiver for family and friends for numerous years. She eventually moved back to the Valencia Family Ranch in Glorieta, NM. She continued to care for family and loved ones, especially her Auntie Cleo and her Auntie Ramona. She loved to sew, read, cook, and bake. She loved going to the Santa Fe Senior Center where she visited and participated in numerous crafts, activities, and trips with friends. She was a member of the Union Proctectiva Feminina. Her Rosary will be held Thursday, April 3, 2014 at 9:00 am with a Mass to follow at St. Anthony's Parish in Pecos, NM. CHAVEZ, MARTHA P. At age 69, Martha, our loving wife, mother, and grandmother went home to the Lord on March 29, 2014. She was born on August 18, 1944 to Sigfredo and Herlinda Padilla. One of five children, she grew up in Albuquerque, NM until she moved to Torreon, NM in 1978 with her own growing family. Survived by her husband Frank L Chavez of 47 years, they shared such a close, wonderful, and truly special life together, all while raising their children and enjoying their grandchildren at "Pancho and Lefty's Ranch." She is survived by son Frank Chavez and wife Pamela, their child Angel; daughter Tracy and husband Angelo Abeyta, their children Dominique, Angelique, Ezeqiel and Antoinique; son Marcos Chavez; daughter Monica Chavez; and son Daniel Chavez and his wife Larissa, and their children Valentino, Amaya, Ariana and Leana. She is also survived by her siblings Mike Padilla and wife Dee, Joe Padilla and wife Martha, Joan Anderson, and Arthur Padilla. For all that knew and loved Martha, she will always be remembered as being soft-spoken, caring, patient, thoughtful and happy; while always keeping the wellbeing of all of her family and friends first and foremost on her list of priorities. We are all so grateful for the special time we had together. A Rosary will be held on Thursday, April 3, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at the San Antonio Catholic Church in Torreon, NM with Mass to be celebrated immediately after at 11:00 a.m.
