She was preceded in death by her husband Hector Elizondo, her sons, Felix and Myles Martinez, brother Felix, sisters Sandra, Ramona and Maria. She is survived by her mother Lala Lopez and her daughters Elicia Rivas and husband Othon Sr.; Grandchildren Othon Jr. and Gabriela; and her daughter Patricia Martinez and boyfriend Cornelio Velasquez; grandson Martin, sister Bertha and many nieces and nephews. DUDAK, HELEN Helen Agnes Nienaltowski was born on May 13, 1919, in Ravenna, Ohio. She grew up the youngest of five children in the time of the depression in a household filled with love, hard work and fun. She attended Ravenna High School where she played violin. She graduated from Business school and then worked in the engineering department of Lamb Electric in Kent, Ohio. She married Michael Dudak in 1939 and lived most of her life on a farm three miles north of Ravenna, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her husband Michael; her parents Casmir and Jozefa Bunkowski Nienaltowski; all of her brothers and sisters; and one great-grandson, Gavin Pepper. She is survived by her daughter Meleny Piotrowski of Hemet, CA; son David Dudak and wife Clara of Albuquerque, NM; eight grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Helen loved to garden and was a member of the Ravenna Garden Club for many years. Her other lifetime activities included reading, sewing, knitting, and other crafts. She was a 4H advisor for ten years as well as a Girl Scout leader. She loved traveling with Michael pulling their trailer behind them, and the two of them were very active in the Su-Cuy-Po camping club for many years. She and Michael loved the farm in Ohio, but moved to Albuquerque in July of 2000 to be closer to family as age caught up with both of them. In 2012, after Michael's death, Helen moved to Hemet, CA to live with her daughter Meleny and bask in the California sun. Rosary will be recited on Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. at FRENCH Lomas, with visitation beginning at 6:30 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Prince of Peace Catholic Parish, 12500 Carmel Ave. NE. DRURY, PATSY RUTH Patsy Ruth Drury, age 83, passed away April 7, 2014 in Albuquerque NM. Patsy was born February 28, 1931 in Hopkins County TX. to George and Lena Swinford. She was preceded in death, November 3, 2013, by her loving husband Calvin. She is survived by daughters Cynthia Jobe, husband Olin, Theresa Drury, partner Lenore Sanchez; sons Ronald Anders, Danny Drury, wife Lori, Kenneth Drury, wife Sherrie and Randy Drury; also ten grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. Patsy enjoyed being active. Even in her seventies she bowled in several leagues and walked the north valley ditch trails for hours each week. Patsy always loved being around children. Many joyful Sundays were spent working at St Michael and All Angels child care. Her bright eyes would sparkle as she told stories about "my babies at church". Patsy was one of ten children and she loved being part of a large family. For many years she and Calvin would pack up the kids and drive to east Texas for a family reunion. It was a large gathering and she was often the center of attention. She would have a year of stories to tell and her laughter filled the air. Patsy loved her family and friends. She cherished any time she could spend with them. She will always be loved and greatly missed. Patsy and Calvin lived the past few years at The Rehabilitation Center of Albuquerque. Her family greatly appreciates the care, friendship and love shown by everyone there, especially, Vickie and Marie. The family also extends a special thank you to Will of Hospice of the Sandias for his gentle care. A memorial service will be held April 14, 2014 at St. Michael & All Angels Episcopal Church, 601 Montano Rd NW, Albuquerque, NM 87107 at 11:00 am. DOYON, HELEN LOUISE (NEE STEPHENS) Born July 1, 1917 in Greenville OH, died April 8, 2014 in Albuquerque, NM at age 96. She was a former long-time resident of Falls Church VA, and retired in 1986 from the Federal Government's General Accountability Office in Washington DC, having received the GAO's agency-wide Meritorious Service Award. From 1937-1944 she sang in the Luther Place Memorial Church choir in Washington, DC. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Raymond Andrew Doyon, retired Lieutenant of the DC Metropolitan Police Dept.; infant, daughter Janet Louise Doyon; and parents, Paul and Inez (Brumbaugh) Stephens. Survivors include daughter, Sharon D. Brandt (Peter) of Cape Coral, FL; daughter, Nancy D. Tupen (Bill) of Albuquerque, NM; grandson, Kevin Andrew Doyon (Kathy) of Redondo Beach, CA; great-grandchildren, twins Ryder and Lucy Doyon also of Redondo Beach CA; and brother, Ronald John Stephens (Alice) of Greenville, OH. Helen will join her husband at the National Memorial Park Cemetery in Falls Church, VA. No services will be held. DE LEON, ESTELLA LUCERO July 10,1933- April 9, 2014 Estella went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday following a lengthy illness. She is survived by her husband Guadalupe De Leon of over forty years. Living siblings include Rumaldo Lucero, Eduardo Lucero, and Rosa Ortiz. Children are Theresa Vela, Larry Torres, Pauline Garcia, Paul Torres, Elizabeth Rodriguez, Rosemary Torres, James De Leon, Bobby De Leon, and Ralph Hoffman; Twenty two grandchildren; and nineteen great-grandchildren; with many more additional family members. You are gone but never forgotten daughter, wife, mother, sister, aunt, godmother, grandmother, in-law, friend, our rock and cornerstone. She is survived by her daughters, Cindy Smith and husband, Jeffrey, and Janie Bishop; daughter-in-law, Diane Bishop; grandchildren, Julian Smith, Erin (David) Grabowski, Robert Shaler, Melanie (John) Thompson, and Nathaniel Shaler; great-grandchildren, Jeff, Grace, Katherine and Emma Grabowski, and Alexis and Dylan Thompson; sister-in-law, Elaine Stednitz; niece, Susan (Duane) Patrick; nephews, Michael (Gretchen) Monti, Martin (Eunice) Stednitz, and Richard (Cindy) Stednitz; as well as many great nieces and nephews. Lucille was happiest when she was with her family and friends. She was kind, loving, accepting, and non-judgmental. Lucille always found time to listen to others. Her artistic talent as a seamstress to create an original garment or to alter one to perfection was appreciated by many that knew her. She enjoyed cooking, entertaining and crafting. BAKER, ARDIE Ruby Ardilene "Ardie" Baker, a longtime resident of Albuquerque, NM, passed away on March 24, 2014, at her home in Ocala, Florida. Ardie was born in Vinita, Oklahoma, to Elmer and Ruby Hamilton. Ardie spent her childhood and early adult years in the Claremore, Oklahoma, area. She lived through the Oklahoma Dust Bowl during the depression of the 1930's and had fascinating stories of that era which she shared with family and friends. In Claremore, she met Raymond "Ray" Baker, whom she married on June 26, 1943. Ardie remained in Claremore raising their son, Gary, while Ray served in the Pacific Theatre during WWII. During the war, Ardie contributed to the war effort by becoming a welder on airplanes. She was truly one of The Greatest Generation. Following the war, Ray remained in the Navy. Ardie and Ray moved to the Great Lakes Training Center in Illinois where their daughter, Karone was born. The family next spent three years in Cartagena, Columbia, where Ardie home schooled her children. They moved to Albuquerque in 1953 where they joined Christ United Methodist Church and remained active members of the church community. Ardie was a member of Eastern Star and the Pearl Harbor Survivors' Association. After moving to Albuquerque, she became a cosmetologist, a profession she loved and continued throughout her life. Due to health issues, Ardie spent her last two years with her daughter Karone in Kansas and Florida and her son Gary in Virginia. Though away from Albuquerque, she remained in close contact with her circle of friends there. Ardie was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond; sister, Laverta Moon; and brother, Jack Hamilton. She is survived by her daughter, Karone Finger and husband, Denny; son, Gary Baker and wife, Fran; granddaughter, Amy Quick; grandson, Chad Baker; great grandchildren: Addison Baker; Justin and Joshua Finger; and Katie Finger Chepalis. Ardie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, sister, and friend. The family wishes to thank all the wonderful people who loved her and were such an integral part of her life. A celebration of Ardie's life will be held at Christ United Methodist Church on Saturday, April 26, at 11:00 a.m. She will be interred with her husband Ray at Santa Fe National Cemetery in a private family ceremony. BACA, RUPERTO 1928-2014 Our beloved Ruperto Baca was called home to be with our Lord on Thursday, April 10, 2014 surrounded by his loving family. Ruperto was born on November 14, 1928 in Belen, NM to the late Salomon and Nicomerez Baca. Ruperto was a proud Veteran who served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He served in the New Mexico National Guard as a Motor Pool Sergeant and Expert Marksman for 35 year until his retirement. He was a member of Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church where he participated in many ministries. He was Chairman of Our Lady of Belen Cemetery Council. He also served on the Fiesta Committee, Marriage Enrichment and taught religious education classes, and the Spanish choir. He was a member of the St. Mary's School Board, the Parish and Finance Counsel, La Gran Pastorela. He was also a longtime member of the Knights of Columbus, the Elk's Lodge, Mid Rio Grande Committee Action Program, Valencia County Foster Grandparents Program and a Scoutmaster. He was also well known for his role in the movie "Fools Rush In." He was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved first wife, Lourdes; son, Leonard; step-father, Antonio Benavidez; sister, Cecilia Otero; and brother, Edwin Benavidez. Ruperto is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Filomena Baca; children, Catherine and husband, Raymond Gonzales; Evangeline Baca, Lena Baca; Patsy and husband, James Garley, Sally Baca, Fernando and wife, Stephanie, Salomon and wife, Lori, Juliana Baca and husband, Fred Ortega, Joey, Martina Baca, Valentina Baca, and Patrick and wife, Dianne; 20 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; sister, Solia Moya; siblings, Ruby Romero, Raymond, Glen and Charles Benavidez. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. All services will be held at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church, beginning with a Viewing on Tuesday, April 15th at 6:00 p.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. A Final Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 16th at 12:30 p.m. with a Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. with Father Stephen Schultz presiding. FREAR, ELDA V. 1929-2014 Elda V. Frear, age 84, was born on May 26, 1929 in Springfield, Minnesota and raised in Wisconsin. She went home to the Lord on Tuesday, April 8, 2014. She was a resident of Belen, New Mexico since 1973. Elda worked at Lovelace Medical Center for 27 years of outstanding service. Elda attended the First Baptist Church of Los Chavez and will be missed by all. She was preceded in death by her parents, Rudolf and Anna Hass; her husband of 47 years, L.C. "Curly" Frear; son, Robert Frear; daughter, Janet Greiner; six brothers, Arthur, Edwin, Harold, Melvin, Leroy and Arnold Hass; and two sisters, Eleanora Hass Nelson and Elizabeth Hass Taylor. Elda is survived by her grandson, Shannon Frear; granddaughter, Cynthia Greiner; special friends, D.L. Martin and Dana Martin; nephews and nieces especially, Jennifer Taylor. She is also survived by numerous friends. ARCHULETA, ALEJANDRO 1947-2014 Alejandro Archuleta, age 66, a resident of Los Lunas, NM passed away on Tuesday, April 8, 2014. Alejandro retired in 2005 from the Village of Los Lunas Waste and Water Treatment plant. He enjoyed spending time outside hunting, going to car shows, and the flea market. Most of all he loved spending time with his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin and Felupila Arellano Archuleta; and sister, Minnie Archuleta. Alejandro is survived by his children, Alex and wife, Tina, Benny, Chris and Alexandra Sisneros; grandchildren, Autumn, Adam, Aaron, Embrace, Brayden, and Destiny; and many great-grandchildren.
