BELT, MARTHA SUE Age 84, also lovingly known to many as "Grannie Sue", peacefully went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, March 5, 2013. Sue was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend whose warmth, kindness, sense of humor, and beaming smile will be sorely missed, but never forgotten. Sue was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Normand Belt; one son, David Belt; and infant great- granddaughter, Lila Stepter. She is survived by three children; 11 grandchildren; and nine great- grandchildren. Nana's family loved and treasured her, as she did them. Her lively spirit lives on not only in those who love her, but also in her revered hummingbirds. BACA, JOSEPH (JOE) ANTHONY JR. went home to be with our Lord and Savior on March 11, 2013, surrounded by his loving family. Joe was born on June 7, 1929 in Santa Rosa, NM. He was married to the love of his life, Connie for 56 years. Some of their favorite times together were spent traveling in their motor home across the US and parts of Canada. The grandkids were always thrilled to see Tata and Nana drive up in their house on wheels! Joe had many names: Dad, Tata, Uncle, Brother, Papa Bear, and Stinky. :) He was a man who felt a deep sense of responsibility to make a difference by serving his country in the Army Air Corps and serving his communities as a New Mexico State Policeman, Albuquerque City Policeman, Valencia County Under Sheriff, and Los Lunas City Councilman to name a few. He was also quite the entrepreneur, demonstrating that with the many businesses he and mom started such as Little Loans, The Fence Post, The Pawn Shop, and finally Baca's Village Insurance. Some of Joe's accomplishments include; General Manager for Seaboard Finance Company for the State of New Mexico, President and member of Rotary and a member of the Elks and American Legion. Joe is survived by his children, Carla Chambers, Joseph Baca III (Vivian), Cyndi McKay (Bob), and Maria Chrissinger (Stephen); grandchildren, James Rightley (Jenell), Michele Rightley, Cindy Bishop (Scott), Britney McKay (fiancee Aaron Straub), Samantha Baca, Morgan McKay, Natalie Baca, and John Chrissinger; great-grandchildren, Taryne, James Jr., Moriah, Noelle, and Faith Rightley, Addicyn and Payson Bishop; siblings, Laute Lucero (Florence), Cres Baca, and MaryAnn Chavez. Joe was preceded in death by his wife Connie (2007), his son Phillip (1998), and his parents Joseph Baca Sr., and Carmen Lucero. Our family would love to extend our heartfelt Gratitude to Elia Sandoval and Christina Quintana for their loving care of our father. A Rosary will be recited on Friday, March 15, 2013 at 7:00 pm at the San Clemente gathering room, 244 Luna Ave Los Lunas, NM. ARNOLD, BARBARA FAYE Barbara passed away on March 10, 2013 at the age of 83 years old. Barbara was born September 28, 1929 in Lansing, Michigan to Richard and Mildred Montgomery. She was preceded in death by her parents Richard and Mildred Montgomery, and her daughter, Patricia (Stevens) Yates. She is survived by her husband Harry Arnold; daughter Debbie Stephens, son Michael Arnold and wife Carole and daughter Beverly Polyard; five grandchildren, Josh Stevens, Jamie and Nic Stephens, Paul Arnold and Matt Polyard; brother Harry Montgomery and wife Cecelia; sister Ruth Vermillion; cousin (sister) Shirley Wright and husband Gerry and the remaining "dozen" cousins, also numerous nephews and nieces. Harry and Barbara were married for 63 loving years. Barbara for the majority of her life was a housewife and mom. She later had her own macrame business called Barb's HangUp. Barbara will be cremated and a memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on March 16th at Daniels Family Funeral Services, 3113 Carlisle Blvd N.E. ARAGON, LEONARD GERALD Age 58, went to the Lord March 12, 2013. A lifelong resident of Albuquerque, he enjoyed hiking, rock collecting, bottle collecting, hunting, and fishing. He was a graduate of Valley High School, attended UNM, and was proud of having worked at a sawmill in Eagle Nest. He is survived by his parents Manuel T. and Clarinda L. Aragon; brother Clyde; sister Gloria Pearl and husband Mike of Las Vegas, Nevada; eldest aunt Maria (Pra) Aragon; favorite friend Therese Yordy, and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Telesfor and Guadalupe Aragon; maternal grandparents Manuel and Fedelina Lucero of Las Vegas, New Mexico; aunt Joyce Aragon; uncle Jerry Miller; uncle Erminio Lucero; and cousin Roger Aragon Jr. A Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 15, 2013 at San Felipe Church, 2005 North Plaza NW (Old Town). Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be members of the immediate family. ARAGON, BENJAMIN Born May 17, 1945 went to be with the Lord on March 1, 2013. He was preceded in death by his parents Tomas and Lugarda Aragon. Benjamin leaves behind son, Benjamin Aragon Jr. and wife Melissa; two daughters, Sitina Gonzalez, Jenell Aragon; four grandchildren, Aisha Gonzalez, Malaki and Mariah Aragon, and Isaac Armenta; ex-wife whom was a beloved friend; three brothers, Tommy and wife Ann, Emilio, Michael and wife Shirley; sister, Eleanor Baca. Benjamin was a wonderful, unique, caring, shy person who would give you the shirt off of his own back. He loved to watch cowboy movies and read books. PULLEY, GEORGE GRAFTON Age 66, a resident of Albuquerque, NM, since 1971 passed away on Saturday, March 9, 2013 at 3:07 a.m. He is survived by his wife, Vera Pulley; aunt, Dorothy McInnish; daughter, Dorothy Elizabeth Walker and spouse, Mike; step-daughter, Kimberly Nance and spouse, Adren; step-daughter, Kendra Matthews and spouse, Aaron; his grandchildren include, Jeremy and Heather Thompson, James Robert and Virginia Ann Nance, Daniel Matthews, and Logan Matthews is expected in May; and step-mother, Kathleen Mildred Pulley. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Katherine McInnish; his father, George Henry Pulley; and his brother, Robert Glen Pulley. George was born in Amarillo, TX, on January 10, 1947 and graduated from Amarillo High in 1965. He received his A.S. degree from Amarillo College in 1970 and a B.B.A. from Texas Tech in 1971. He developed software for check processing and was founder and CEO of GGPA beginning in 1979, which grew to an impressive 35 employee's. He retired in 1999 and sold his company to Jack Henry and Associates. George was known for his gourmet meals and celebrations and enjoyed traveling with friends and family. He was an accomplished balloon pilot and mentored many, enjoyed fine woodworking and in recent years developed a fondness for shooting craps at the casino. He lived life to the fullest and left an indelible mark in many lives. Visitation will be held Friday, March 15, 2013 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at FRENCH - Westside. O'LEARY, JAMES adventurer, educator, realtor, resident of Albuquerque since 1965, passed away peacefully March 8, 2013, in his Albuquerque home. Jim was born on October 28, 1939, in Chicago, Illinois and moved to Rockford, Illinois, where he attended St. Peter's Grade School and St. Thomas High School. Jim received a BA and MA from the University of Notre Dame. He married Marilyn Cacciatore in 1962 and moved to Albuquerque in 1965, where he taught in public and private schools, including the University of Albuquerque and Scandia Girls' School (Sandia Prep.) before becoming a realtor. He received a liver transplant in 1993 and became a passionate advocate for organ donation. Jim was devoted to his family, Jim O'Leary (Gina Simon) of Albuquerque and Charlie O'Leary (Lily) of Santa Fe; and his grandson, Shames O'Leary. Jim is also survived by his brother George O'Leary (Kay) of Rockford, IL; sister Trish O'Leary (Howard Treet) of Orange, CT; and Marilyn's sibling Helen Reilly and John Cacciatore (Nancy Kozikowski) of Albuquerque, and Charles Cacciatore (Teresa Leon Varela) of San Rafael, CA. Jim's sister, Kathleen Rydstrom, of St. Petersburg, FL, predecease him. A memorial service will be held at the Open Space Visitor's Center, 6500 Coors Road NW, Saturday March 23, 2013 at 3:00 pm. LIZAR, WANDA M. At the age of 94, a resident of Pena Blanca, NM since 1971, and a lifelong resident of NM, died Monday March 11, 2013. She was preceded in death by her husband Tom Lizar, father, mother, two sisters and a brother. She is survived by her two brothers, Jim Woods and wife Jan, Herb Woods and wife Arlene; daughter, Karen and husband Murray Lewis; three grandchildren, Theran, Aaron and Tara and their spouses; six great - grandchildren; and four great-great -grandchildren. Wanda was an amazingly strong independent woman, who loved being outdoors and with family around her. He was born Aug. 19, 1942 in Las Cruces, the son of Max Harper and Pauline (Kester) Hood. Albert, known as Al was called to heaven. Known to many as a great husband, father, brother and friend. ESQUIBEL, EMILIO JUAN JR. Age 87 was called home by his Lord Jesus Christ on March 11, 2013. He was a strong, compassionate, concerned, loyal, sincere, determined, and hard working man that loved his family and the Lord above all things. He served our country honorably in the U. S. Navy in WWII on the USS Kassan Bay, during the Atlantic Theater seeing action off the coast of Spain and France; clearing the beaches at the battle of Normandy; as an aircraft mechanic and gunners mate. He was known as a "man's man". He was preceded in death by the love of his life, his wife of 57 years Helen Gallegos Esquibel; father Emilio Esquibel Sr. and mother Libradita Tafoya Esquibel; his father and mother-in-law, Perfecto Gallegos and Eloisa Rivera Gallegos; his sons Larry Gillen and Michael Esquibel; his sisters and brothers Grace Esquibel Sr., Grace Cora Esquibel, Alfred Esquibel, Ted Esquibel, Juanita Garcia. He is survived by his children Lawrence E. Esquibel and wife Patricia; daughters Sylvia Gillen, Rita Sanchez and husband Billy. He is also survived by his grandchildren Melissa Barela and husband Joseph, Nicole Vallejos and husband Jacob, Jonathan Esquibel, David Esquibel, Allen Gillen and wife Cheri, Bruce Gillen and wife Andrea, Chris Gillen and wife Michelle, Billy Joe Sanchez and wife Liz, Cruzita Sanchez-Holguin and husband Conrad, Carmelita Fryar and husband Eric, and Francisco Sanchez and many great grandchildren.
