HERRERA, HENRY A. Age 82, of Albuquerque, died Sunday, April 13, 2014. Henry was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 52 years, Eva Herrera. He is survived by his four children, five grandchildren, and two great-granddaughters. He served in the Air Force for 22 years and was awarded the Air Medal and the Distinguished Flying Cross for meritorious service in Viet Nam before retiring as a Lt. Colonel. He then spent 30 years at New York Life Insurance where he was inducted as a Hall of Fame Senior sales executive. He was a good man who led a full life and while we grieve for our loss, we find comfort in the knowledge that in heaven, "he has slipped the surly bonds of earth, to dance the skies on laughter-silvered wings." Memorial Services will be held Wednesday, April 23, 2014, 10:00 a.m., at Risen Savior Parish 7701 Wyoming Blvd. NE. GAUNA, REBECCA Rebecca Gauna, age 89, passed away on April 18, 2014 at the Princeton Place in Albuquerque following an illness. Rebecca was born on March 15, 1925 in Yeso, NM to the home of Procopio and Macedonia (Trujillo) Gauna. She was reared in Yeso and Vaughn where she graduated High School. During her High School years, Rebecca began working at the Weisinger Store in Vaughn. In 1945 she became the Postal Clerk in Vaughn, a position she held for 35 years before retiring in 1980. Rebecca was also a long time News Reporter for the Santa Rosa News reporting about all of Vaughn's Activities. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Vaughn where she sang in the choir. She did Tax Preparations for many years; she loved to take pictures and was affectionately known as the family photographer. She also enjoyed gardening, chopping and was a jack of all trades. Rebecca is preceded in death by her parents, her siblings, Annie Tapia, Willie Gauna, Adolph Gauna, Amelia Romo, her brother in law Tony Romo, sister in law Josie Gauna as well as various nieces and nephews. Survivors include her sister Esther Chavez of Albuquerque and a special nephew Louis Gauna and wife Virginia of Albuquerque as well as numerous nieces, nephews and a host of relatives and friends. Rosary services will he held on Wednesday, April 23, at 10:30 AM from St. Mary's Church in Vaughn with Funeral Mass to be celebrated after the Rosary with Father Antonio Mondragon officiating. Burial will follow at the Evergreen Cemetery in Vaughn. Serving as Pallbearers will be Patrick Chavez, Robert Ortiz, Amelia Tapia, Louie Gauna, Daniel Espinosa and Feliz Gauna. Serving as Honorary Pallbearers will be Michael Romo, Salvador Arvizo, Steve Armijo and Pat Maes. All services for Rebecca have been entrusted to the Chavez Funeral Home of Santa Rosa. CANDELARIA, EVA P. Age 90, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, went to be with the Lord on Monday, April 14, 2014. She is survived by her son, Patrick Candelaria; grandchildren Shane Candelaria and wife, Wendy, Eva Marie Candelaria, and Renee Chavez; and great- grandchildren Nathan Candelaria, Monica Sanchez, and Ashley Moya. Eva was preceded in death by her husband, Toribio "Toby" Candelaria; sons Ernest Candelaria and Steve Candelaria; and her twin sister, Lily Fierro. Mrs. Candelaria retired from General Electric. She was a lifelong parishioner at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. A rosary will be recited on Monday April 21, 2014 at 7:00 pm at FRENCH-University. TEMPLE, JAMES W. James, age 93, passed away on April 9, 2014 of natural causes. He is survived by his loving wife, Ruby, of 73 years; two sons; two grandchildren; two great- grandchildren; two brothers; and two sisters. James was born in Lovington, Iowa on January 20, 1921. He joined the Navy during WW II and served in the Pacific. In 1948, he moved his family to Albuquerque, NM. James was a master carpenter by trade and could build practically anything. His passions in life were fishing, rock collecting, and reading. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, and he will be greatly missed by all his family and friends. Memorial services will be held at Riverside Funeral Home, at 225 San Mateo NE, at 2:00 pm on April 27th.

SISNEROS, BRIGIDA born September 30, 1925 in Abo, New Mexico to Lucas Zamora and Vicenta (Baca) Zamora, passed away on April 17, 2014 at her home in Albuquerque with family at her side. She was preceded in death by her husband Eliseo, her son Steven, her parents, two brothers Fidel and Moises, and three sisters Gabina, Elfida and Estella. She is survived by sons Eliseo and his wife Helene, Dennis and his wife Martha, Arthur and Robert; her brother Gilbert; and by many grandchildren and great- grandchildren. She made friends wherever she and her husband lived; Abo, Mountainair, Vaughn, Socorro, Belen, San Diego, CA, and Albuquerque. She worked at home for her family and her kitchen table offered good food and laughter to her neighbors, friends and family. She loved vacations and traveling with her husband by train on his railroad pass. They did this together for fifty years. She was a wonderful wife and mother and will be dearly missed. A Visitation will be held at Riverside Funeral Home Los Lunas Chapel on Wednesday April 23, 2014 beginning at 6:30 PM with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 PM. SELVA, LAWERENCE L. JR. Age 89, passed away on Monday, April 21, 2014. He was born on November 10, 1924 to Lawrence L. and Mary (Campo) Selva of Albuquerque, NM. A member of the Greatest Generation, he proudly served our country in the US Army. He was a renaissance man, a jack of all trades and master of most, an extraordinarily gifted storyteller, mentor, friend, confidante. He retired from being a lineman and was a 65 year member of IBEW Local 611. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marie G. Selva; brothers, Ralph H. Selva and Charles J. Selva; sisters, Norma S. Jackson and Eugenia Rendance. Mr. Selva is survived by his nieces and nephews: Kathryn D. Berkebile, Jeff Jackson, Stan Selva, Charles Jackson, Lawrence Brad Silva, Jennifer Buffington, Matthew Rendace, Cole Selva, and Mitchell Rendace; and dear friend, Enrique Colon. SAVAGE, CHARLES E. Charles (Papa) E. Savage lost his battle with cancer on April 13, 2014. He was born May 11, 1931 in Lawrence, Kansas and was a resident of Albuquerque, New Mexico since 1963. He is survived by his sweetheart Marilyn Williams; children Cassandra Betsworth, Dianna Solano Savage, and son in law Chris Betsworth; grandchildren Sommer Betsworth, Cody Grenfell, and Jordan Grenfell; his great-granddaughter Addison Betsworth-Mohn; siblings John Savage, Stuart Savage, Marge Umbach and Bernice Kleinfeldt. Roger is survived by his loving wife of forty eight years Penny Perrigo; two sons, Brian Perrigo and wife Cheryl and Jason Perrigo; three grandsons, Matthew, Nathan and Zachary; two brothers, Dean and Kurt as well as other family members and many friends who loved and will miss him. Roger retired from the Frito-Lay Company in 2004, where he worked for over twenty years. He enjoyed traveling and spending time with his family. MUEDEKING, GEORGE HERBERT REV. DR. Rev. Dr. George H. Muedeking, son of the Rev. George F. and Rosalie C. (Brodt) Muedeking, was born August 19, 1915, in Arcadia, WI and died on Easter Sunday, April 20, 2014 in Albuquerque, NM. His father baptized, confirmed and ordained him into the ministry of the American Lutheran Church. After his early education in Arcadia, he received a B.A. degree from Capital University (1936), an M.A. from Indiana University (1938), a M.Div. from Trinity Theological Seminary (1941), and his Ph.D. from the University of California, Berkeley (1961). Dr. Muedeking received God's call to become a Pastor while at Indiana University. This call formed the foundation of his life and service and guided him throughout his days on earth. He met Harriet (Rollwagen) Muedeking in St. Paul, MN and they married in 1941. They then moved to California where Dr. Muedeking founded two Lutheran churches, Long Beach (1941) and La Habra (1950), and served as Pastor of First Lutheran Church, Fullerton (1947-51) and Christ Lutheran in El Cerrito (1951-59). From 1956 to 1965 he taught theology at Pacific Lutheran Theological Seminary in Berkeley, in 1965 becoming a full professor. In 1965, George and Harriet moved to Minneapolis, MN where he was appointed editor of The Lutheran Standard, the official publication of the American Lutheran Church. He remained in this position until his retirement in 1980. George and Harriet retired to Napa, CA where Dr. Muedeking remained active in teaching, writing, and editing, also serving as interim pastor at several churches. During his career he published articles and books in the areas of Christian ethics, Lutheran theology, pastoral counseling and other topics. He was a lecturer and guest professor at several universities and seminaries including Indiana University, California Lutheran University, and Pacific Lutheran University. From 1981-82 he taught at the Lutheran Teachers College and Seminary in Adelaide, Australia. He enjoyed traveling and visiting Lutheran missions and schools around the world, having visited 122 counties in his lifetime. After Harriet's death in 2006, he moved to La Vida Llena Retirement Community in Albuquerque, NM. He is survived by his daughter, Miriam Heyer and her husband W. Ronald Heyer of Arlington, VA; son, George D. Muedeking and his wife Anne Sigler of Albuquerque, NM; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. MICHAEL, PAUL CHRISTOPHER 10/9/1955 - 3/2/2014 Paul Michael made his transition surrounded by family and friends. He courageously battled cancer during the past year. Paul was the youngest son of the late Pauline Hanosh and Azize Michael from Bibo, New Mexico. He graduated from Laguna-Acoma High School and went on to earn a BFA in theatre from the University of Albuquerque. In addition, Paul attended the American Conservatory Theatre and the Actors Institute of New York. His goals lead him to California where he pursued an acting career and established a catering business specializing in providing meals to professionals on movie productions such as Pretty Woman, 101 Dalmatians, and Lion King. In recent years, he worked as a healer through his therapeutic practice. He is survived by brothers, Jimmy (Debbie) and Edward Michael; and sister, Minel (Tommy) Schlaefli. His family includes seven loving nieces, one nephew and their spouses and children. Paul also leaves behind a strong and dedicated circle of friends. His creative and lively spirit will be missed. A celebration of his life was held in Los Angeles, CA. Local services will be held on Saturday, April 26 at 11:00AM in Our Lady of Sorrows church in Seboyeta, New Mexico.

LUCERO, CLORINDA F. Age 86, beloved and devoted mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully at her home, Saturday, April 19, 2014, while surrounded by her loving family. She was a lifelong resident of Bernalillo, NM, where she was a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church. Clorinda enjoyed crocheting, working in her garden, and putting puzzles together; above all she loved spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jesus and Eremita Montes; her husband, Frank M. Lucero; son, Joseph Lucero; daughter, Priscilla Chavez; and grandson, Francisco Chavez. Clorinda is survived by her loving children, Theresa Chavez and husband Cruz, Tommy Lucero and wife Margaret, Leonard Lucero, Inez Rodriguez and husband Jaime; 14 grandchildren; 21 great- grandchildren; other relatives and friends. Clorinda will be greatly missed by her loving family and by those whose hearts she touched.
