  • 04/27/14--00:00: Obituary for ACOSTA JR.
  • ACOSTA JR., PETE G. God saw you were getting tired, and a cure was not to be. So He put His hands around you and whispered, "Come With Me". With tearful eyes we watched you suffer and watched you fade away, although we loved you dearly, we could not make you stay. A golden heart stopped beating, hard working hands put to rest,. God broke our hearts to prove to us that He only takes the best. It's lonesome here without you , we miss you more each day. Life doesn't seem the same, since you went away. Each time we see your picture, you seem to smile and say, "don't cry, I'm in Gods hands, and we'll meet again someday". Love your wife Annie, Richard, Martin, Rudy, Walter, Joann, Mary, and Clarence.

  • 04/29/14--00:00: Obituary for MEYER
  • MEYER, MAUREEN C. Maureen Meyer, age 70. A resident of Albuquerque, died Friday, April 25th, 2014. She is survived by her loving husband of 43 years, Donald J Meyer; her two children, Pam and Nick; her five grandchildren, Kyle, Meghan, Charles, Max and Trace; three sisters, Rosemary, Kathy and Ree; and countless friends and family. This wonderfully spirited, witty woman was an extraordinary mother, wife, and friend. Her love for all of us was fierce and unwavering, but what we will remember most about her was her love of all children. Maureen was kind, compassionate and wanted everyone to be happy and at peace with one another. She greeted everyone with a smile and a warm heartfelt greeting. There were people that she knew everywhere that she went. Graduated from high school in Toledo, Ohio, then went on to earn her nursing degree from the Mercy School of Nursing. She believed strongly in higher education and eventually attained the level of masters in nursing administration. No one could have done better at creating a loving, safe and nurturing environment for her family. We thank her for all of the memories filled with laughter, orange popsicles, purple peeps, "Spoons are for applesauce", bubbles on the patio, soccer coaching, snacks after school with the homework lady, strawberry rhubarb pie, card playing with friends and spending time with those she loved. Grateful beyond words for her gift of unconditional love, we will honor her memory by trying to give the same gift to our own families and friends. We will think of you whenever we feel the sun on our faces and the wind in our hair. You are deeply loved Nana-bo-bana and you will be missed. A small memorial service will be held on Wednesday, April 30th. Memorial contributions should be made in her name to UNM Children's Hospital and there you have it, ice cream pie!
