SANCHEZ, MIKE Age 58, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 16, 2013 with his loving family at his side. He was born in Socorro, NM on April 8, 1954 to Andrew and Julia (Martinez) Sanchez. Mike was a life long resident of Socorro. He retired after 30 years of devoted service as a Mechanic and Maintenance worker for the Socorro Consolidated Schools. He was a "jack of all trades" and could fix anything. He worked hard and took pride in everything he did, from cleaning his yard, cutting and stacking the wood to working on the family farm and caring for the sheep. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. Mike liked to travel and occasionally visit the casinos, play a game of pool, or go bowling. Mike always had music on, all kinds of music, but most importantly Mike always had a song in his heart. He lived life to the fullest and was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle and friend. He loved his family more than anything. Mike is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Cecilia (Montoya) Sanchez of Socorro; his devoted children, Michael Sanchez and wife, Charlene of Albuquerque, NM, Victoria Mesa and husband, Richie of Tucson AZ, and Juliette Sanchez and companion, Andrew Baca of Albuquerque; sisters, Della Sanchez, Esther Thompson and husband, Jim, Patricia North and husband, Robert, and Jenny Derryberry and husband, Thurman; brothers, Andrew J. "Boo- Boo" Sanchez, and Andy Sanchez and wife, Patricia; and many other loving family members and close friends. Mike also enjoyed and adored his grandchildren, Marissa, Diego, Ariana and Alejandro. He was preceded in death by his parents, his father, Andy Sanchez in 1975; and his mother, Julia Garcia, just a few short weeks ago, February 28, 2013; his brother, Rudy Sanchez; and his beloved granddaughter, Taylor Wright. A Holy Rosary will be recited on Tuesday, March 19, 2013 at 7:00 pm at the San Miguel Catholic Church, 403 El Camino Real, Socorro. The Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated on Wednesday, March 20, 2013 at 9:00 am also at the San Miguel Catholic Church with Father Andrew Pavlak as Celebrant. Interment will take place in the Lemitar Cemetery. Pallbearers are Joe Montoya Jr., Nick Montoya, Anthony Montoya, Pete Montoya, Andrew J."Boo -Boo" Sanchez, and Charlie Savedra. JIRON, ANNA C. 1923 - 2013 age 89, a resident of Belen, NM passed away Friday, March 15, 2013. She was a member of Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church and a devoted Christian woman of God. Anna was born to the late Juan and Ramona Carrejo in 1923 in Aragon, NM. She attended school in Horse Springs, NM and Reserve, NM. After meeting her beloved husband David who passed away in 2003 they moved to the Belen area in 1957 to raise their family. Anna was a professional seamstress and she worked for many people in and around Valencia County. She was also a wonderful cook and baker. Nothing pleased her family more than when she prepared special meals for them. She was preceded in death by her parents, Juan W. and Ramona Trujillo Castillo Carrejo; husband, David Jiron; son, Crespin Jiron; three brothers, J.J. Carrejo, Ernest Carrejo and Willie Carrejo; three sisters, Tonie Martin, Julia Armijo and Teresa Saavedra; brother, Roy Carrejo; and grandchild, Mario Jacoby. Anna is survived by her four sons, David Jiron Jr. and wife, Ruby of Grants, Bobby Jiron and wife, Ruby of Belen, Tino Jiron and wife, Maria of Belen, Lawrence Jiron and wife, Geraldine of Cedar Crest; daughter, Annabelle Baldonado of Belen; ten grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; brother, Nestor Carrejo and wife, Lupe of Las Cruces, NM; sister, Lucy Armijo of Roswell, NM; her special sister, Shella Jiron of Belen; sisters-in-law, Viola Carrejo of Rio Rancho, NM, Tillie Carrejo of Albuquerque and Dolores Carrejo of Socorro, NM; and brother-in-law, Frank Saavedra of Albuquerque. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. GOEHRING, SALLY L. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Sally L. Goehring on March 16, 2013 after a brief struggle with cancer. She was born in Des Moines, Iowa to Jesse "Dutch" and Elaine Richardson on June 28, 1934. She is survived by her husband, James Bradley; step-brothers Jerry Richardson and Paul Richardson; step-sister, Kathy Robertson; son Bruce Goehring and wife Samme; daughter Linda Cde Baca and husband Eddie; grandchildren Richard H. Goehring, Amy Jennings and husband Jon, Natalie Martinez, Ty "Rachel" Leyba, Jenny Nieto and husband Michael; seven great-grandchildren; and an eighth great-grandchild due any day. Sally was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Richard D. Goehring; her sister, Susan Poppino; and her youngest daughter, Betsy Goehring. Sally moved to Albuquerque the day after her high school graduation where she briefly attended UNM and met her first husband, Richard. They were married almost 32 years. Together they raised their three children, Bruce, Linda and Betsy. She and Dick lived all over the state and finally settled in Albuquerque in 1971. After his passing, Sally went to work for the UNM Pulmonary Department until her retirement. Sally took up many new and different hobbies, including quilting, genealogy, and joining a tombstone registry project group. After losing her eyesight in 2005, Sally joined her long-friend and former classmate, Jim Bradley and traveled to their 55th class reunion in Des Moines. They fell in love and were married on Christmas Eve, 2007 and moved to Rio Rancho. Together, Sally and Jim did a lot of "RV"ing around the country. Sally's hobbies included reading, quilting, crossword puzzles, building jigsaw puzzles, doing extensive research on the genealogy of her family, walking the cemeteries around the state, traveling by RV, and spending time with family. Sally's memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 23, 2013 at 2:00 p.m., with a reception immediately following at French Westside. GLEASON, ESTELLE V. Age 84, of 345 Marble Street in Lee, formerly of Devonshire Estates in Lenox, died Monday at the home of her son and daughter-in-law, Lawrence and Nancy Gleason. She was born in Gt. Barrington, MA, on November 25, 1928, the daughter of Lawrence and Marguerite Skinner Carter. She was a graduate of the former Searle's High School. In the 1970's she worked in the Lee Super Market and Nejaimes Market. She was a former member of the Gt. Barrington and Lee Methodist Church and a current member of the United Methodist Church in Lenox. Member of Sincerity Lodge in Gt. Barrington and Silver Star of Rebekah's in Pittsfield. Mrs. Gleason moved to Albuquerque, NM in 1979 and returned to Lee in 2010. Her husband, Clyde A. Gleason, whom she married on December 14, 1946, died January 30, 1994. She is survived by two sons, Lawrence A. Gleason and his wife Nancy of Lee, William T. Gleason and his wife Esther of Brooks, GA; one daughter; Patricia H. Gillett and her husband Warren of Rio Rancho, NM; four grandchildren, Christopher Gleason and his wife Shannon, Michael Gillett and his wife Krista, Amy Ruef and her husband Gary, Elizabeth Ludwig and her husband Douglas; seven great-grandchildren, Ryan and Andrew Ruef, Olivia, Collin and Gavin Gillett, Cardell Mackrill and Chance Mackrill; and sisters-in-law, Grace Gleason and Joan Randall. She was predeceased by her brothers, Stephen, Lorin and Winthrop Carter and a grandson, James Gillett. Funeral Services for Estelle Gleason will be on Thursday morning at 11: 30 am at the United Methodist Church in Lenox with the Pastor Janet Deranian officiating. THOMAS, LARRY Our beloved husband, brother, uncle and grandfather, Larry Thomas, 62, died suddenly at home on Tuesday morning, March 19, 2013 of natural causes. Larry was born April 24, 1950 in Rehoboth, New Mexico. He enjoyed working in his business for Financial Planning, Tax Assistance and Accounting. He was a member of NRA and loved hunting. He enjoyed attending the Navajo Code Talkers events as a representative for his Code Talker father, Richard Thomas. She was born August 6, 1952 in Commerce, Texas, to L.J. and Carolyn Sparks. She was preceded in death by her father and grandparents J. Walter and Stella Sparks and R.L. and Kathaleen Rogers. She is survived by her mother, Carolyn Sparks, Albuquerque, and sisters Sherri Kueffer, Edgewood, Michelle Irwin, Albuquerque, and Lisa Reilly, Gilbert, Arizona. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Suzanne was an accountant and her passions were family, reading, her pets, and the Dallas Cowboys. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 27 at Asbury United Methodist Church, 10000 Candelaria Road, NE. She was preceded in death by her father, Ernesto Sisneros and father of her children, David Dominguez. Renee is survived by her mother, Flora Gallegos; her children, Anthony Sisneros, Antonette Sisneros and Adam Fierro, and Eric Sisneros and Destiny Martinez; three grandchildren, Adam Fierro, David Fierro and Eliyanna Sisneros. Renee was the youngest of seven brothers and sisters, Christy Knight, Gloria and Jake Lopez, Patsy Lopez, Bill and Valerie Sisneros, Paul and Gloria Sisneros, Cindy Sisneros and fiancee Anthony Rios. Renee will be remembered for her loyalty to her family and her cheerful personality. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
