Obituary for PATERSON

PATERSON, ARTHUR III Age 53, of Albuquerque, went to be with the Lord on September 2, 2014. He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Diane; his two children, Arthur James Paterson IV of Albuquerque and Amanda Paterson of Philadelphia, PA; his mother, Shirley Paterson of Albuquerque; two sisters, Cheryl Paterson and wife Annette Cook, of Alameda, CA and Jean Floersheim and husband Scott Floersheim, of Albuquerque. He is also survived by nieces, Lindsey Dragstrem, Erin Sharpe, Emma Mueller and Kate Floersheim. He was preceded in death by his father, Arthur James Paterson II. Arthur was born in Chicago, IL. He attended schools in Oak Lawn and attained his Bachelor's Degree from Elmhurst College in 1983. He married Diane in 1983 and the couple moved to Albuquerque the same year. He was a very loving husband and proud father, who was very supportive of his children. Arthur was a friend to all and enjoyed life to the fullest. He was happy to the end. He was an avid adventurer, enjoying cycling, camping, traveling, and hunting. Arthur was a devoted son and brother, and gave of himself to his family and friends. He will be remembered for making others laugh and his unique sense of humor. His nieces will remember him for being a loving, happy-go-lucky uncle. Arthur had a very strong faith and was a member of Sandia Presbyterian Church in Albuquerque. A memorial service will be held to celebrate his life on Friday, September 5, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Sandia Presbyterian Church, 10704 Paseo Del Norte Blvd. NE. KING, DELPHY (CHAVEZ) Beloved sister, auntie, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 30, 2014 at age 92. Delphy was born May 29, 1922 in Belen, NM. She worked for PNM, Public Service Company of NM, in Belen and then in Bernalillo before retiring after 30 years of service. After retiring she enjoyed many years of working Estate Sales. Delphy especially loved being with her family and close friends, she adored all of her nieces and nephews, to whom she was like a second mother. She loved to travel, traveled the world, and enjoyed going to the casinos. Delphy had a very strong faith in God, going to mass was something she did daily. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends, and will always be in their fondest memories. HERRERA, MOISES JOSE MARCELINO Age 35, beloved father, son, and brother, joined our heavenly Father on Friday, August 29, 2014. He was born in Albuquerque, NM on July 19, 1979, to Ronnie & Virginia Herrera. Moises shared the same birthday with his dad which was the happiest day of their lives. He graduated from Jemez Valley High School in 1998, and most recently worked for the City of Albuquerque. Moises will be especially remembered for the genuine love for his family and the kind heart he had, the everlasting love for his son, Moises Ronnie Herrera, and will forever be his guardian angel. Moises had a special interest in boxing and was awarded "Bout of the Night", "Outstanding Boxer", and "Up and Coming Professional" during his amateur boxing career. He was trained by his brother, Ronald Herrera, and was selected to be a sparring partner with his boxing idol, Johnny Tapia. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Moises and Mary Romero; his paternal grandfather, Clyde Herrera; and great-aunt and uncle Justo and Lucy Lopez. Moises is survived by his precious son, Moises Ronnie Herrera; his loving parents, Ronnie and Virginia Herrera; his brother, Ronald Herrera and wife Trisha; his sister, Loyola Martinez and husband Raul; nephew, Alejandro Herrera; his godparents, Robert and Sophie Archibeque; grandmother, Mollie Herrera; and many other loving relatives and friends. Moises will be greatly missed by his loving family and by those whose hearts he touched. HENRY, DONA LEA Dona Lea Henry, 86, passed away on Wednesday, August 27, 2014. If you knew Dona, you know that she lived for and loved her family. The 1973 New Mexico "Mother of the Year" was preceded in death by her loving husband, of 62 years, Gwinn "Bub" Henry; parents, Kennith and Bernice Burgard; and step-father, Walter Plath. Dona and Bub raised five sons, Patrick (Gail), Mark (Catherine), Matt (Lisa), Timothy (Barbara), and Roben (Karen). She was extremely proud of her eight grandchildren, Shelly (Seth) Daigle, Brandon (Brandie), Kenny (Mandy), Kurt, Kyle (Nan), Shannon, Gwinn and Roope; and her seven great-grandchildren, Avery and Luke Daigle, Katie and Morgan, Kelly, Lacey, and Sean Henry. She is also survived by her beloved brother, John Plath (Nadine) and the entire Plath family; and her nieces, Amy Nessly, Jenifer Shell, and Carol Carpenter (Dan). HARLIN, LENORA MAE Lenora Mae Harlin, born July 9, 1928, passed away September 2, 2014 at 86 years young after a long battle with cancer. She grew up in Weed, New Mexico and later attended business school in Albuquerque, where she met and married Robert L. Harlin in 1948. She is preceded in death by her husband of 61 years and one son, Alton L. Harlin. She leaves behind one daughter, Glenda J. Gandy, and her husband, Vance Gandy; one grandson, James R. Grogan and wife, Denise Grogan; two great-grandsons, Christian Grogan and Jay Genero, and several family members and friends that will miss her deeply. Lenora was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a homemaker and gave freely of her time to the Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts for more than 55 years. For 35 years, she was the recorder and secretary for the Order of the Arrow Lodge 66, of which she is a vigil member. She served on the Wood Badge staff and several Brownsea training courses. She received many awards including the Silver Fawn for her service to scouting. She was a member of the Rebecca's Lodge for 50 years, 30 of which were spent serving as treasurer. GRIEGO, ELESTA M. Elesta M. Griego, born May 21, 1919 in Flagstaff Arizona to Alfanso Garcia and Benina Lopez Garcia, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 1, 2014. She is preceded in death by her husband Demetrio Griego Jr. and her son Filbert Griego. She is survived by her sons: Leo Griego and wife Barbara, and Demetrio Griego III and wife Lauren; daughters: Evangelina Pike, Sylvia Vielma and husband David, and Katherine McLarty and husband Michael; sister: Rita Garcia; 11 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. FOGEL, RYAN CHRISTOPHER A tender-hearted and creative spirit quietly left this world on Friday, August 29. 2014, to join his beloved grandfather, Ben Dodson, in the presence of God. Ryan, known as "Uncle Bowser" by the nephews who adored him, was 28 years old. DISMUKE, DANIEL Daniel Paul Dismuke passed away peacefully from an aneurysm in the early morning of August 30th. Daniel is preceded in death by his father William D. (Bill) Dismuke and his mother Joan Dismuke. He is survived by his wife Catherine; daughters Danielle, Hannah and Gia; his sister Ruth Blakely and husband Stuart; brother Mark Dismuke and wife Cathy; brother Stephen Dismuke and wife Danielle; nephews Roy Dismuke and Jack Dismuke; nieces Neita Miller, Eva Blakely, Mackenzie Dismuke, Dylan Rose Dismuke; and grandnephews Adian and Carson Dismuke. Daniel was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico and was a lifelong New Mexico resident. A graduate of New Mexico State University, Daniel was co-owner of Dismuke Construction Company with his brother Mark. Daniel grew up in the Quarter Horse industry; showing horses and rodeoing as a youth. For many years he raised Corriente cattle alongside his mother and siblings. He was an avid team roper, loved a good game of golf and a good joke. He will always be remembered for his easy smile and heart of gold. To quote Daniel, "It's all good." Daniel was devoted to his three daughters and wife. He was a genuine friend to people from many walks of life. He cherished his special needs daughter Gia and worked hard to protect her joyous, loving, free spirit. A remembrance for Daniel will be held Saturday, September 6th at 1:00 PM at Sandia Resort. Mr. Chavez is survived by his wife of fifty-two years, Patsy; sons, Ernest L. BROWN, GLORIA J. Age 82, went to be with our Lord Jesus Christ on Tuesday, September 2, 2014 in Albuquerque, NM. She was born on February 14, 1932 in Kansas City, MO to Paul and Mildred Frazier who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her beloved husband, Rev. Robert J Brown. Gloria is survived by her stepsister, Colleen Bremer and husband Jim; stepbrother, Doug Bremer; her children, Paul Brown, Ruth Aubert, Lois Guffey and husband Acie, Esther Aubert and husband Salvador; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Josie Savage and husband Dave and Louisa Dimas; as well as many cousins, nephews, nieces, other beloved family members and friends who loved and will miss her greatly. Everyone who knew her said "she was one of my favorite people." The Funeral Service will be on Friday, September 5, 2014 at 10:00 am at Albuquerque Bible Church, 320 Montano NW, with a viewing starting at 9:00 am, and also immediately after the service.
