WHITE, LORNA ANN CLAWSON Lorna White passed after a short illness on November 16, 2013. Survived by her children Debb James (Jesse), Jack White; daughter-in-law Tammy White; grandchildren: Justin (Chelsea), Joshua (Crystal) and Cheyanne White, Julie James and Darla Meldrum; great- grandchildren: AJ, Destiny, Gabriel, James, Maryssa, Matthew and Tori; brothers: Daryl (Elsie), Lavar (Doris), Evert (Margaret) Clawson; sisters-in-law Minnie Cozzens (John), Olivia Clawson; brother-in-law Dick White (Virginia); many beloved nieces and nephews; & dear friend Beth Bartel. She was preceded in death by her husband Jack of 51 years, her parents LeRoy and Susie Clawson, five sisters and six brothers. Lorna will be remembered for her wonderful cakes and pies and talent as a piano player. She loved her weekly trips to get her hair done and to church. Services will be held on Thursday, November 21, 2013 in Ramah, NM, at the LDS Church. Burial at Ramah Cemetery.

VINCENT, BETTY BANKSON Betty Bankson Vincent, 90, suddenly passed from this earth in the early morning hours on November 15, 2013. Born December 31, 1922, she cherished her lifelong friends, relatives and life in Titusville, PA, where she graduated from Titusville High. She later continued her studies at the University of Evansville. She started her work life as a secretary in the small steel town. To the consternation of her mother, she co-piloted bi-planes when possible. After the end of WWII, she met the love of her life, Ray, a US Naval Officer and petroleum engineer. For fifty years, she and Ray, lived and worked in Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Maryland and raised their three children. She cared deeply for her family and her dog, Shelley. Other interests were gardening, reading, needlepoint and counted cross-stitch. After first retiring to St. Augustine, FL they moved to Albuquerque in 1988, and were active at their church, Sandia Presbyterian. She was predeceased in death by Ray, her husband; parents, Art and Lena Bankson; and brother Arthur John, all of Titusville, PA. She is survived by three children, John of Annandale, VA; Thomas of Laytonsville, MD; and Katherine of Albuquerque, NM; two grandchildren; and a great-grandson. Family services and interment will occur Wednesday in Byesville, Ohio.

VIGIL, LEWIS REYES JR. (PUNKIN) Lewis passed away on Sunday, November 17, 2013, at his home in Clayton, New Mexico. Prior to living in Clayton, Lewis resided in Albuquerque for 25 years. He was born June 7, 1942 in Santa Maria, California to Lewis (Red) and Ione R. Vigil, and is a descendent of Francisco Montez Vigil, who arrived in New Mexico in 1695. He served in the New Mexico National Guard for several years. Lewis will be remembered for the designs he painted on school basketball floors across New Mexico, Texas, Oklahoma, and Kansas. He is survived by his four children, Marissa, Mark, Mathew and Mary Tess; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Survivors also include siblings: Jerry R. Vigil, Cheryl Archuleta, Jo Beth Price, Annette Vigil, and Jeannette Barras. A visitation will be held at Haas Funeral Home in Clayton, New Mexico on Friday evening from 6:00 pm. until 8:00 pm. Rosary will be held at 1:00 pm. at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Clayton, with a funeral Mass following at 2:00 pm. Burial will take place at the Clayton Cemetery.

TYLER, AUDREY LOUISE Audrey Louise Tyler, 73, and a life long resident of Albuquerque passed away peacefully on Oct. 25th, 2013. She was born on Oct. 24th, 1940 to Everett and Ethel Tyler. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Glen, Gary, Wayne, Donald, and sister Shirley Cahill. She is survived by sisters, Maxine Seymour of Albuquerque and Vada Dunn of Rocklin, CA; and numerous nieces and nephews. A celebration of her life will be held on Nov. 23rd at the home of Maxine Seymour, 2203 Wilbur Ave. SW at 11:00 AM.

THOMPSON, HOWARD E. Howard went to be with the LORD on November 17, 2013. Howard was born on September 19, 1919 to Archie and Edith Finegan Thompson in Greenwood County near Eureka, Kansas. He was preceded in death by his wife of 44 years, Patricia Augustine Thompson; brother, Leo Thompson and sister, Wanda Wolf. He is survived by two daughters, Patti Jo Grubbs and husband, Al, Susan K. Diaz and husband, Armando; son, Fred Thompson and wife, Darlene, all of Albuquerque and son, Daniel Thompson and wife, Kelley of Florissant Mo; eleven grandchildren, Barbara Legendre, Russell Grubbs, Matthew Diaz, Tricia Mueller, La Dora Sella, Nelson Bemis, Fred Thompson Jr., Rob Thompson, Jeramy Thompson, Anna Thompson and Dana Thompson; and eleven great-grandchildren; Chrycia Legendre, Amanda Legendre, Keenan Diaz, Devon Diaz, Jordan Mueller, Micah Mueller, Charlotte Mueller, Kathryn Mueller, Ryann Mueller, Joseph Thompson and Lea Thompson. The nation has lost another of its WWII veterans. He served with the 8th Air Force, 93rd Bomb Group, 328th Bomb Squadron and was stationed at Hardwick Air Base England in 1942. He was an aircraft mechanic working on B-24 Liberator bombers. He resided in Wichita, KS for many years where he worked for Beachcraft and the Air Force at McConnell AFB. He retired as a civil servant from the Air Force at Kirtland AFB, NM, in 1969 after a 20 year career. He was a member of American Legion Post 49. In his retirement he enjoyed square dancing, hiking with a hiking club and jewelry making. Father is resting in peace with our LORD, with mother at his side and visiting with his life-long friends, Jack and Frances Ingram. The family would like to thank the staff at Canyon Rehab, especially Ollie and Julie, the staff at Lovelace Women's Hospital, and a heartfelt thank you to Lynette from Gentiva Hospice for the loving, kind and compassionate care she provided our father. Pallbearers are Chris Mueller, Matthew Diaz, Keenan Diaz, Jordan Mueller, Russell Grubbs and Jeramy Thompson. A Rosary will be held Wednesday, November 20, 2013, 7:00 p.m. at FRENCH - Lomas. SANTISTEVAN, JOYCE DIANE Our little angel went to heaven on November 15, 2013. Joyce is survived by her parents, Mary Frances & Carlos Santistevan; sister, Antoinette and her husband Mario; brother, James and his wife Patty; brother, Mike and his wife Mary Jo; nieces Renee and Pilar; and nephews Ian, Diego, Cortez, Jordan & Jakob. Joyce was preceded in death by her grandparents, Cristino & Manuelita Gallegos and Guillermo and Eutila Santistevan, her uncles Eli and Joe Max Gallegos. She had many, many uncles, aunts, cousins and special friends. Joyce was the center of her family's life, and through their prayers, diligence, and devotion, Joyce lived a full and rewarding life. In 1985, her mother resigned from her job to homeschool Joyce, and to devote attention to her. Joyce will be remembered for her kind spirit and love for everyone she met. She always had a smile on her face, cared deeply for her family and enjoyed going places-including a cruise to the Mediterranean with her parents on their 50th anniversary. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her, and her family wishes to send thanks to all of those who helped bring meaning into her life. He was preceded in death by his Paternal Grandfather Cippie, Grandmother Eleanor, Uncles Michael and George, Maternal Grandfather Wayne, Grandmother Lucy, Uncles John and Joe. He is survived by his parents Ramon and Sofia Sandoval; brother Joe; sister Rebecca; uncle Bill and family; aunts Sherry and family and Chris and family; cousin Tori; and many more cousins and friends who loved him dearly. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on Friday, November 22, 2013 at 1:00 in the afternoon at United Methodist Church in Bernalillo, NM.

NOVACO, THELMA E. Thelma Novaco, born in Dayton, Ohio, May 31, 1928, moved to Albuquerque, July 1968 with her husband when he retired from the US Air Force. She passed away Sunday, November 17th at her home in Albuquerque. She is survived by her husband S. Nicholas Novaco; daughter Sharon L. Novaco; son-in-law Harold Bosch; grandchildren Eric Bosch, Tasha McKinney and Tona Novaco. She also has ten great-grandchildren. Kathleen Baca, her caregiver of six years, will be in attendance. Thelma retired from the Base Exchange after 20 years of service. There will be a viewing and reception at Riverside Funeral Home on Friday, November 22, 2013 at 2:00PM.

NANNEY, CHRISTOPHER R. Christopher R. Nanney, age 61, died November 14, 2013 after losing his battle with cancer. A lifelong resident of Albuquerque, he is survived by his loving wife of 47 years Linda; his daughter Delphina; two grandchildren Diego and Raena; mother Ruth Clark; his siblings Carolyn, Clifton, Christine and Cathy; and lifelong friend Tony. Special thanks to his devoted brother-in-law Carl T. Smith who was always there for him. MASCI, EVANDRO SILVIO passed away on November 14, 2013 in Paradise Valley, Arizona at the age of 90. He was born to Vincenzo and Domenica Masci in Poggio Picente, Italy on September 5, 1923. He emigrated to the United States at the age of 14 with his brother through Ellis Island to Durango, Colorado. He served in the U. S. Navy from 1943-1945 in the Gilbert and Marshall Islands in the Pacific Theater. After an Honorable Discharge, he became an electrician. He returned to Gallup, New Mexico where he started Andy's Trading Company Inc in 1961 and retired to Phoenix, Arizona in 1987. He enjoyed playing cards, gardening, dancing and traveling to California. He is survived by his sister Donatina Masci in Trieste, Italy. He is survived by children: Sylvia Masci of Litchfield Park, AZ., Dr. Vance Masci of Milwaukee, WI., Elizabeth McAlister of Glendale, AZ., Gregory Masci and wife Cambria of Gallup, NM; Grandchildren: Athena Masci of New York, NY, Miles Masci of Boston, MA, Neil McAlister of Glendale, AZ, Giuliano Masci of Waco, TX. LAFER, AARON Age 75, a resident of Rio Rancho for the past 34 years, passed away on Tuesday, November 19, 2013. He was born on March 24, 1938 to Julius and Jean (Schwartz) Lafer of Brooklyn, NY. He proudly served in the US Army and retired from the Port Authority Police Department of New York and New Jersey in 1979 after 20 years of service. He then worked in human resources and as an assistant manager at the Holiday Inn Pyramid Hotel in Albuquerque. He was instrumental in the design of the safety at the Pyramid Hotel. He retired again in 1995. Mr. Lafer will be remembered for his quick and sharp sense of humor, self-taught computer expertise, being a handyman, traveling all over the world and being an excellent country/western dancer. Mr. Lafer was preceded in death by his parents, Julius "Jerry" and Jean Lafer; sister, Marcia Cohen; and nephew, Robert "Bobby" Cohen. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 52 years, Marilyn (Sackrowitz) Lafer, of Rio Rancho, NM; daughters, Bonnie Lafer and boyfriend, John Walters, of Alameda, CA, and Jerri Lafer and boyfriend, Raymond Sanchez, of Albuquerque, NM; grandson, Brandon Simpson and girlfriend, Ann LeCornec; and favorite niece, Linda Cohen Dallara. Pat loved helping people and retired from nursing after thirty years. She was an avid collector of pigs. FLORES, EMMANUEL E. Emmanuel E. Flores, age 71, of Albuquerque and Vaughn, New Mexico, left us unexpectedly on November 18, 2013. Manny was born August 27, 1942 in Abo, NM. Manny was the son of Juan Blas and Gregorita Flores. He is preceded in death by his two sisters: Helen Flores and Marcella Romine; and his nephews: Fabian Romine and Rick Chavez. He is survived by his soul mate Ethel Griego; and his sisters: Mona Mata (Bill), Margaret Storey (Gilbert), Sally Chavez (Dennis), Connie Griego (Nick), Kathy Silva (Roman). He was loved by his nieces and nephews: Denny Chavez, Sylvia Armendariz, Chug Storey, Gregg Romine, Tony Flores, Mary Storey, Denise Guerrero, Billy Mata, James Storey, Ed Mata, Dolores Maldonado, Johneye Gayle Storey, Liz Griego, Rose Cohen, Anna Griego, Carla Silva, Sandra Jaramillo, Roman John Silva, Mark Silva, Nick Griego III, and 23 great nephews and nieces, and 11 great-great nephews and nieces. Manny excelled in sports and academics in high school. He attended NMSU before serving two tours of duty in Vietnam with the 1st Cavalry 101st Airborne Division in An Khe. His love of adventure took him and his friend, Murphy to the farthest regions of Alaska, until he settled in Southern California. Manny was an avid reader and passionate about his beloved UCLA Bruins. He could be found most weekends with Ethel betting on ponies. He was the rock of our large loving family. His compassion, humor and intelligence guided all those fortunate enough to have known him. A rosary will be on Thursday, November 21 at 7:00 p.m. at Reflections of Life Funeral Home (2400 Washington St. NE, Albuquerque, NM 87110) A rosary will also be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Vaughn, NM on Friday, November 22 at 7:00 p.m. A mass to celebrate Manny's life will be held at St. Mary's in Vaughn on Saturday, November 23 at 11:00 a.m. Interment with full military honors will follow at Vaughn Cemetery. DIGUISEPPI, CLAUDINE HUMPHREYS Age, 93, a resident of Albuquerque, was called home to be with the Lord Monday, November 18, 2013. She is survived by her daughter, Debra A. Erekson of Albuquerque, NM; brother, Harry Steen, a Bataan Death March Survivor, and wife Mary Lou of El Paso, TX, and many other family and friends in New Mexico and Rochester, NY. Mrs. DiGuiseppi was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Michael DiGuiseppi; her parents Claude Humphreys and Annie Humphreys Smith. Claudine was a graduate of Albuquerque High School in 1939, attended Browning Secretarial School, was employed at Sandia National Labs and later at the University of Albuquerque until her retirement in 1981. Claudine was a faithful member of the Catholic Church, a loving wife, mother and friend, an outstanding cook who loved to host holidays parties for family and friends. A Rosary will be recited Friday, November 22, 2013, 6:00 pm at FRENCH - Lomas. CREGO, NEWEL HARRIET WEBB Age 102, passed away Sunday, November 17, 2013. She is survived by her children, Byron G. Crego of Albuquerque, Ruth Ann Stahl (David) of Lithia, FL, Peggy E. Andreas (Ernest) of Albuquerque, and Melinda S. Crego of Plano, TX; grandchildren, Ginger Wells of Texas, Trey Davidson of Pennsylvania, Eric Andreas and Bryn Andreas, both of Albuquerque, and Kent Andreas of Wisconsin; 13 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ben B. Crego in 1980. Mrs. Crego was born August 18, 1911 in Nacona, TX to Levi D. and Cora Ann Franks Webb. She moved with her parents to Spur, TX in 1921 where she lived and worked as a telephone operator after high school. Newel was sixth of eight siblings, all having preceded her in death. She married Ben B. Crego of Dickens, TX in 1932. In 1937, Ben and Newel moved from Texas and settled in the Albuquerque area. Newel was a homemaker, but was very supportive of Ben and his business establishment, the Crego Block Company, established in 1946. Newel was active in her church, Young at Heart Choir, Honored Ladies and Daughter of the Nile. She served as chaplain of that organization under several Queens. Survived by her children Debb James (Jesse), Jack White; daughter-in-law Tammy White; grandchildren: Justin (Chelsea), Joshua (Crystal) and Cheyanne White, Julie James and Darla Meldrum; great- grandchildren: AJ, Destiny, Gabriel, James, Maryssa, Matthew and Tori; brothers: Daryl (Elsie), Lavar (Doris), Evert (Margaret) Clawson; sisters-in-law Minnie Cozzens (John), Olivia Clawson; brother-in-law Dick White (Virginia); many beloved nieces and nephews; & dear friend Beth Bartel. She was preceded in death by her husband Jack of 51 years, her parents LeRoy and Susie Clawson, five sisters and six brothers. Lorna will be remembered for her wonderful cakes and pies and talent as a piano player. She loved her weekly trips to get her hair done and to church. Services will be held on Thursday, November 21, 2013 in Ramah, NM, at the LDS Church. Burial at Ramah Cemetery.
