ROSENQUIST, STURE (STU) ERLAND Sture (Stu) Erland Rosenquist born Sept 26, 1941 in Gavle Sweden. He moved to the US of A in 1971 where he became a successful contractor/ builder of waterfalls, lakes and streams. He relocated and transferred his business to Las Vegas, NV in 1989. He later became an employee for the United States post office as a driver. He retired in 2009. He was preceded in death by his Mother, Katrina and his Father Erland Rosenquist. He is survived by his Wife Cornelia (Connie) Valdez Rosenquist; Son Marcus Rosenquist; grandchildren Jonathan and Maya Rosenquist; his Daughter Ylva Rosenquist Vagerstam; Step- children Micheal J Otero, Christopher J Otero, Leesa E Otero, Tanya L Otero. Stu loved the simple things in life especially the nature and all the beauty if provided. he was devoted to his two Dachshunds Ziko and Troll. He died at home where he was surrounded by love and tears as he took his last breath. Stu took with him a huge chunk of our hearts, never to be forgotten.

ROMERO, TEOFILO On Monday, Nov. 18, 2013 Teofilo Romero (Teo), passed away at Presbyterian Hospital in Albuquerque, New Mexico at the age of 72. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Pauline; brothers, Paul and Freddie; and sisters, Francis Sarnicola and Gloria Austin. Teo leaves behind two daughters, Bernice Benjamin and Lucy Romero; son Julian Romero; and son-in-law Keith Benjamin. He has eight grandchildren, Teofilo Romero Jr., Julian Romero Jr., Chelsea Romero, Wanda Light, Cassandra Okamoto, Trever Benjamin, Justina Delgado and Andrew Delgado. Teo also has seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews still residing in Albuquerque. Teo was a long time member of the OTAP (Organ Transplant Awareness Program) in addition to serving as its' President for a year, a Transplant Games participant and the recipient of two kidney transplants himself. He was very active in teaching and educating others about the importance of being an organ donor, spending hours at local schools educating Albuquerque's youth on the value of organ donation. His tissue, bone marrow, skin and cells were donated immediately after his passing. Teo was also active in his community as a member of the Mossman Neighborhood Association, helping to positively impact his neighborhood and its residents through examination of local issues. Teo was a long time self-employed business owner, growing up in Albuquerque before moving to California to work in the sign business. He and his wife Pauline returned to New Mexico in 1991 and have resided in the NE Heights ever since. Teo will be missed by all of those that loved him dearly. Private services were held this week for immediate family. MASCI, EVANDRO SILVIO passed away on November 14, 2013 in Paradise Valley, Arizona at the age of 90. He was born to Vincenzo and Domenica Masci in Poggio Picente, Italy on September 5, 1923. He emigrated to the United States at the age of 14 with his brother through Ellis Island to Durango, Colorado. He served in the U. S. Navy from 1943-1945 in the Gilbert and Marshall Islands in the Pacific Theater. After an Honorable Discharge, he became an electrician. He returned to Gallup, New Mexico where he started Andy's Trading Company Inc in 1961 and retired to Phoenix, Arizona in 1987. He enjoyed playing cards, gardening, dancing and traveling to California. He is survived by his sister Donatina Masci in Trieste, Italy. He is survived by children: Sylvia Masci of Litchfield Park, AZ., Dr. Vance Masci of Milwaukee, WI., Elizabeth McAlister of Glendale, AZ., Gregory Masci and wife Cambria of Gallup, NM; Grandchildren: Athena Masci of New York, NY, Miles Masci of Boston, MA, Neil McAlister of Glendale, AZ, Giuliano Masci of Waco, TX. HOLLIDAY, IMOGENE (JAKE) Age 84, a resident of Albuquerque since 1949, went to be with her boys Tuesday, November 19, 2013. She is survived by her children, David Holliday, Sissie Farless, Glenda Saavedra, and Brenda Sandoval; 20 living grandchildren; and many, many great-grandchildren. Momma was preceded in death by her sons, Johnnie "Pete" Holliday, Mackie Holliday, and Rickie Holliday; grandchildren, Ronnie and Elena; and brother, Johnnie Herron. Jake was a meat wrapper for over 36 years and retired from Smith's. Momma raised seven children by herself. Her life and her world were her kids and grandkids. A service will be held on Saturday, November 23, 2013, 10:30 a.m., at FRENCH - University, with Rev. Judy Maynard and Stacey Kohlman officiating. APODACA, ANTHONY JOSEPH (TONY) Passed away on Friday, November 22, 2013 following a long illness. His loving family was by his side in death, as they were in life. Tony was born on April 8th, 1928, and lived in Albuquerque all his life, except for a short period when he and his wife, Frieda, lived in Connecticut. He was predeceased by a newborn son, Joseph Apodaca; by his brothers: Peter, Frank and Lucas Apodaca; and by his parents, Antonio Jose and Manuela (Sanchez) Apodaca. Tony is survived by his wife of 63 years, Frieda (Salazar) Apodaca, and by his son, Anthony Apodaca III (Diane Dix), their two children Anthony Apodaca IV (Francesca Apodaca) and their children: Isabella and Serafina; and Alicia Apodaca and her son, Braden Apodaca. He is also survived by his daughter, Christine Muehlenweg (Robert), & their three sons, Joshua Apodaca-Muehlenweg, Zachary Apodaca Muehlenweg, Damon Apodaca-Muehlenweg, by his younger daughter, Claudia Apodaca (Gary Joffe), and their two sons, Neal Apodaca-Joffe and Jordan Apodaca-Joffe, and by his younger son, Vincent Apodaca (Donna Sedillo Apodaca,) and their children, Samuel Apodaca and Veronica Apodaca. Tony is survived by one brother, Leonard Apodaca, and two sisters, Dolores Church and Lutgarda Gonzales. Tony was a plumber and a gasfitter all his life. He was also a jack-of-all-trades-he could fix and build anything. He built many of the homes where his family lived. Tony was a natural athlete; he won the 1947 State Championship Pentathlon for Albuquerque High School. Tony was also a very active member of the Knights of Columbus his entire adult life, and held the top office of Grand Knight. He never met a stranger; Tony talked to anyone and everyone. He and Frieda were active in square dancing and round dancing for over 30 years, where they made many good and lasting friendships. Tony was known for his many sayings, including, "Vaya con Dios. Yo me quedare con los santos." Tony's faith was very important to him. He attended daily Mass throughout his entire life. In his early years, he ran to Mass, and in his later years, he walked to Mass each day. He continued to attend mass on a daily basis even after he became ill, and he attended Sunday Mass until the last two weeks when he became unable to leave the home. The Apodaca family is thankful to Hospice of the Sandias for their exceptional care of Tony during his last two years. His family is also exceedingly grateful to his caregivers, Virgie, Stacey, Alicia, and Ashley for their very loving and devoted care of Tony, and for the help and support they gave to his family. Tony's Life Celebration will begin with a Visitation starting at 6:00 p.m., followed by a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church at 9:00 a.m. followed by Entombment at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. WEBER, HELEN Helen Weber, 92, beloved aunt, passed away on November 13, 2013, surrounded by her family. Helen was born in the Bronx, May 4, 1921, the third of five children of Bertha and Morris Mandelbaum. She lived in the Murray Hill area of Manhattan and was an extraordinarily successful fundraiser for the neighborhood association there. Helen enjoyed 85 good years in New York before moving to New Mexico in 2006 to be close to her nephew and his family. She made many friends among the residents and especially the staff at Fairwinds in Rio Rancho and at Atria Vista Del Rio Retirement Communities. Helen's family would like to express special thanks to the caring team of Heritage Hospice, to Rabbi Min Kantrowitz and to Helen's wonderful caregivers. Helen brought love, humor and pizzazz to all who knew her. She will be greatly missed. May her memory be a blessing.

VAN HORN, TRAVIS J. Age 33, a resident of Albuquerque since 1984, was lost on Wednesday, November 20, 2013. Travis graduated from Sandia HS and attended NMMI and CNM. He was a combat veteran of the Iraq war and served with distinction in both the NMNG and US Army. Travis was a Master Mason and a member of Temple Lodge #6 in Albuquerque, NM and was raised in 2008. He also was a 32nd degree mason of the Scottish Rite Orient of NM. He is survived by his father, Joe Van Horn Jr. of Phoenix, AZ; mother, Nancy Van Horn of Edmond, OK; grandparents, Joe and Helen Van Horn of Albuquerque. VALLEJOS, ELLOY V. JR. Age 74, died on November 17, 2013. He was born on Oct. 15, 1939 in Seboyeta, NM, to Vincent and Nativity Vallejos. He had 11 siblings: Candy, Pablo, Jerry, Flora, Andy, Alice Damacio, Lucy, Bobby, Phillip and Andrew. He is Survived by his wife Maria (Virginia) Vallejos; sons Ricky and David; daughter Stella; granddaughter Marina; and grandson Aiden. His hard work ethic was a trait of his family and the times. He worked in Aviation and retired after over 40 years. His most loved past times was Fishing and Wrestling. He will always be remembered through our stories and our Love!

UNDERWOOD, W. R. &Quot;DUB&Quot; age 101, of Albuquerque, died Friday, November 22, 2013. He is survived by wife of nearly 79 years, Sibyl Underwood; sister, Elizabeth McAnelly; six nephews and two nieces. Dub was a retired consulting engineer and general contractor; retired Capt, US Naval Reserve, having served during WWII. He was a former board member of the NM Boy's Ranch from 1950 to 1971; president of NM Chapter of the Associated General Contractors in 1958; Chairman of the Albuquerque Chapter of the NM Professional Engineers in 1947; member of the City of Albuquerque Building Dept. boards 1950-1962; Planning Commission 1952-1963; member of Local Masonic Bodies; Deacon in Highland Baptist Church since 1975; member of Albuquerque Country Club and avid golfer up until last year at 100 years of age; Active in Albuquerque construction since 1937. Dub was a pilot and flew to his various building project during those years of contracting. He was a very caring man with high integrity, and a friend of all who came in contact with him. Services will be held on Tuesday, November 26, at 2:00 pm, at Chester T. French Mausoleum Chapel at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE, with Pastor John Embry officiating. TORRES, ARTHUR F. Retired Army Major Arthur F. Torres, 67, of Rio Rancho, NM, passed away on November 19, 2013, after a bout with cancer. He was preceded in death by his mother, Marie Torres and father John Torres. Arthur is survived by his wife and soul mate, Katherine Van Goidtsnoven de Torres, as well as his three sons, Ty Torres, Beau Torres and Andrew Krosche. He leaves behind three grandchildren, Coltrane, Layla and Hendrix Torres. Arthur was a graduate of The United States Military Academy at West Point and served multiple tours in Vietnam as an Airborne Ranger. He served as the Editor of the Military Review in Ft. Leavenworth, KS, and was the Public Affairs Officer for the United States Southern Command, Ft. Clayton, Panama. In 20 plus years of service, Arthur received numerous awards and decorations including the Bronze Star, Combat Infantryman Badge, Army Commendation Medal with V Device, Gallantry Cross with Palm Citation and the Meritorious Service Medal. Arthur was blessed with a loving family and a broad extended family, many of whom looked to him as a father figure. He spent years coaching sports, driving kids to the beach, giving learned advice, tending wounds of the body & soul & perhaps most importantly, listening when there were no words to be spoken. While he served his country gallantly and created a legend amongst his friends and family, Arthur is probably best known as a quick-witted, no-nonsense secondary school teacher. In an international teaching career that led him through Kuwait, Pakistan, Thailand, Venezuela, Taiwan and Tunisia, Arthur instilled a sense of achievement and responsibility in his students through a combination of tough-love, common sense and an acute understanding of our collective humanity. His rapier wit and indelible friendship will be missed by all. A Rosary will be recited Monday, November 25, 2013 at 7:00 PM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 309 Stover Ave SW, Albuquerque, NM. THOMPSON, JAMES C. James C. Thompson was born in Corbin, KY on May 5, 1927 to Monroe C. and Edith C. (Kitts) Thompson. He died November 16, 2013. He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Lillian Burnside and Marjorie Arnold. He is survived by wife, Sylvia Thompson; and three children, Kyle of Las Vegas, NV, Brian of Roseville, CA, and Stacy Daeschner (Steve) of Jeffersonville, IN; four granddaughters, Kelly and Kristin Thompson and Skylar and Shelby Daeschner; and nieces and nephews. He also leaves a sister-in-law, Norma Neumann-Andreassen of Fort Myers, FL. He attended St. Camillus Academy in Corbin, KY and graduated in 1944 as valedictorian. At 17, he worked briefly for Fercleve Corp. in Oak Ridge, TN. At 18, he entered the Marine Corps in August of 1945, and was stationed at Pensacola Naval Air Base. He was selected to attend a Marine Corps Japanese language school, but the next week the Japanese surrendered. Following his discharge from the Marines in 1946, he received a basketball scholarship at Eastern Kentucky, but was ineligible to play basketball, so instead he played baseball for one year. He enrolled in the fall of 1948 at Denver University for two quarters but started playing professional baseball the next spring. He signed with Lakeland, FL, a Detroit Tigers farm team. He continued his attendance at Denver University during the fall and winter quarters and was a member of the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity. During the fall and winter quarters, he played AAU basketball for Continental Airlines. He continued to play professional baseball in the summers. He graduated in March of 1953, with a degree in radio and television management. While attending Denver University, he met his wife, Sylvia O. Neumann. They were married in Minneapolis, MN in June of 1953. Following graduation, he and Sylvia moved to Casper, WY where he began a broadcasting career which spanned over 45 years. He retired in 1997. His professional career began in March of 1953 when he started working for KSPR radio in Casper, WY. He worked for McClatchy Broadcasting from 1960 to 1982 in Bakersfield, Modesto, Sacramento, and Fresno, CA. From fall of 1982 to 1984, he worked in Topeka, KS and built KLDH-TV. From 1984 to 1987, Mr. Thompson worked in Lexington, KY and built WDKY-TV. From 1987 until 1997, he worked at KGUN in Tucson, AZ and KGGM to KRQE in Albuquerque, NM for Lee Enterprises. His wife and family want to give special thanks to all his friends who came by day after day to help ease his transition from this earthly world to his heavenly home.
