HAMILTON, GENEVIEVE RUTH Genevieve Ruth Hamilton, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away at the age of 86 on October 18, 2013. Genevieve was born June 3, 1927 in Castana, Iowa. After attending high school in Iowa, she moved to Vaughn, New Mexico where, at age 18, she met John Hamilton, who soon after would become her husband of 68 years. In their marriage, John and Genevieve lived around the world . . . Albuquerque, New Mexico, El Paso, Texas, Fairfield, Connecticut. Germany and France. In 1961, John retired from the army and they settled in New Mexico where they lived in Santa Fe, Belen and Albuquerque. Genevieve was extremely bright, hard working and built her career with the State of New Mexico in Santa Fe for over 20 years. After a long and successful tenure, she retired in June 1982 as Fiscal Bureau Chief. After they both retired, John and Genevieve toured the country in their motor home. Genevieve was a member of Highlands Baptist Church where she sang in the choir. She enjoyed playing the piano and harmonica and loved working in her Rose garden. Her other interests were garden club and her sorority, Epsilon Sigma Alpha International, Chapter Gamma Delta. At the end of her life, Genevieve and her family waged a long and difficult battle with Alzheimer's. Genevieve was preceded in death by her mother and father, her brothers, Alton and Dwayne, her son, baby John and her dog Nana. She is survived by her loving husband, John Hamilton; her daughters, Cheryl Hamilton and Joni Trumbull; son-in-law, John Trumbull; two granddaughters, Shawna Hamilton Doster and Marisa Hamilton Botros; grandson-in-law, John Botros; and four great-grandchildren, Thomas and Hamilton Doster and Jack and Henry Botros. Genevieve also leaves behind two sisters, Evonne Nepper and Gloria Torres, brothers, Jim Chandler and Vernon Chandler, many more nieces and friends and her dear little white dog, Patrick. It is with a heavy heart we say goodbye. You will be missed and forever remembered by all that love you. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Albuquerque Alzheimer's Association. A celebration of Genevieve's life will be held on December 7, 2013 at Hotel Parq Central in Albuquerque from 2:00 to 4:00 pm.

GARDUNO, FELISA R age 92, passed away on November 21, 2013 at the Skies Health Care and Rehab Center in Albuquerque. Felisa was born on May 11, 1921 in Amarillo, TX to the home of Juan and Francisca (Lopez) Rodriguez. She worked for the Santa Fe Railroad in Amarillo for 7 years before moving to Vaughn in 1951. She married Graciano Garduno in 1956 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Amarillo. Felisa was a member of St. Mary's Church in Vaughn, she loved playing solitaire, cooking and watching TV. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Graciano, her sisters, Esperanza, Lorenza, Francisca, Julia and Ramona her brothers Pasqual and Joe. Survivors include her daughters, Frances Apodaca and husband Ralph of Fort Worth, TX, Mercy Pomikal of Albuquerque, her sons, Sam Cruz of Littleton, CO, Graciano Garduno, Jr. of Saugus, CA and Steve Garduno of Vaughn. Also surviving is her sister in law Isabel Rodriguez of Corpus, Christi, TX, 13 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren along with numerous nieces, nephews and a host of relatives and friends. Rosary services will be held on Sunday, November 24, at 6:00 from St. Mary's Church in Vaughn. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday, November 25 also from St. Mary's Church with Father Paul Nkumbi officiating. Burial will follow at the Evergreen Cemetery in Vaughn. Serving as Pallbearers will be Larry Ballin, Rodney Apodaca, Mark Apodaca, Gonzalo Ballin and Ricky Ballin. Serving as Honorary Pallbearers will be Juan Alvidez and Glenn Giordano. DIGUISEPPI, CLAUDINE HUMPHREYS Age, 93, a resident of Albuquerque, was called home to be with the Lord Monday, November 18, 2013. She is survived by her daughter, Debra A. Erekson of Albuquerque, NM; brother, Harry Steen, a Bataan Death March Survivor, and wife Mary Lou of El Paso, TX, and many other family and friends in New Mexico and Rochester, NY. Mrs. DiGuiseppi was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Michael DiGuiseppi; her parents Claude Humphreys and Annie Humphreys Smith. Claudine was a graduate of Albuquerque High School in 1939, attended Browning Secretarial School, was employed at Sandia National Labs and later at the University of Albuquerque until her retirement in 1981. Claudine was a faithful member of the Catholic Church, a loving wife, mother and friend, an outstanding cook who loved to host holidays parties for family and friends. Rosary was recited on Friday, November 22, 2013, 6:00 pm at FRENCH - Lomas. The Mass was celebrated Saturday, November 23, 2013, 9:00 am at The Shrine of St. Bernadette, 11401 Indian School Road N.E. DESNOO, MARY CALLAHAN Feb. 2, 1915 - Nov. 16, 2013 Mother, Wife, Sister and friend to many, left us on a bright Saturday in Sparks, Nevada due to the complications of old age. Mary Callahan DeSnoo was one of ten children born to Thomas and Margaret Hayes Callahan of Ridgefield Park, New Jersey. She and her husband Emile (who passed away in 1981) were blessed with five children: Barbara (Dr. Alessandro) Pireno, Joanie (Rob) Prommel, Dennis (Coral), Marianne (Jonathan) Shedd, and Neal (Margaret); and five grandchildren: Alessandro Pireno, Gabriella Pireno, Zachary Shedd, Amelia DeSnoo and Will DeSnoo. She is also survived by her brother Joe and sisters-in-law Kay Callahan and Gloria Callahan and scores of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in passing by her sister Margaret and brothers Ray, Tom, John, Jimmy, and Frank. Her family will miss her and remember her impact on their lives. A celebration of her life will be held at Santa Fe National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, her family recommends a charitable gift to support children and their education.

APODACA, ANTHONY JOSEPH (TONY) Passed away on Friday, November 22, 2013 following a long illness. His loving family was by his side in death, as they were in life. Tony was born on April 8th, 1928, and lived in Albuquerque all his life, except for a short period when he and his wife, Frieda, lived in Connecticut. He was predeceased by a newborn son, Joseph Apodaca; by his brothers: Peter, Frank and Lucas Apodaca; and by his parents, Antonio Jose and Manuela (Sanchez) Apodaca. Tony is survived by his wife of 63 years, Frieda (Salazar) Apodaca, and by his son, Anthony Apodaca III (Diane Dix), their two children Anthony Apodaca IV (Francesca Apodaca) and their children: Isabella and Serafina; and Alicia Apodaca and her son, Braden Apodaca. He is also survived by his daughter, Christine Muehlenweg (Robert), & their three sons, Joshua Apodaca-Muehlenweg, Zachary Apodaca Muehlenweg, Damon Apodaca-Muehlenweg, by his younger daughter, Claudia Apodaca (Gary Joffe), and their two sons, Neal Apodaca-Joffe and Jordan Apodaca-Joffe, and by his younger son, Vincent Apodaca (Donna Sedillo Apodaca,) and their children, Samuel Apodaca and Veronica Apodaca. Tony is survived by one brother, Leonard Apodaca, and two sisters, Dolores Church and Lutgarda Gonzales. Tony was a plumber and a gasfitter all his life. He was also a jack-of-all-trades-he could fix and build anything. He built many of the homes where his family lived. Tony was a natural athlete; he won the 1947 State Championship Pentathlon for Albuquerque High School. Tony was also a very active member of the Knights of Columbus his entire adult life, and held the top office of Grand Knight. He never met a stranger; Tony talked to anyone and everyone. He and Frieda were active in square dancing and round dancing for over 30 years, where they made many good and lasting friendships. Tony was known for his many sayings, including, "Vaya con Dios. Yo me quedare con los santos." Tony's faith was very important to him. He attended daily Mass throughout his entire life. In his early years, he ran to Mass, and in his later years, he walked to Mass each day. He continued to attend mass on a daily basis even after he became ill, and he attended Sunday Mass until the last two weeks when he became unable to leave the home. The Apodaca family is thankful to Hospice of the Sandias for their exceptional care of Tony during his last two years. His family is also exceedingly grateful to his caregivers, Virgie, Stacey, Alicia, and Ashley for their very loving and devoted care of Tony, and for the help and support they gave to his family. Tony's Life Celebration will begin with a Visitation starting at 6:00 p.m., followed by a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church at 9:00 a.m. followed by Entombment at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. ALLEN, RICHARD C. Richard C. Allen, age 80, passed away November 19, 2013. He was born July 17, 1933 in Detroit, MI. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, JoAnn; son Mark, wife Carmen and granddaughter Katie of Albuquerque, son Robert, wife Ann and grandchildren Kyla and Jeremy of Voorhees, NJ; brother, John Allen of Cadiz, KY; sister, Nancy Capistran of San Diego, CA and other extended family members. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1954 - 1957. Following his service, he returned to Murray State University in Kentucky to complete his education, receiving a BS in Math and Physics in 1959. He received his MS in Math from the University of MO in 1960, worked four years for the Martin-Marietta Company in Littleton, CO and then continued his education, receiving his PhD in Mathematics from the University of New Mexico in 1968. After graduation, he accepted a faculty position in the Math Department at UNM. While at UNM, he served as director of the Los Alamos Graduate Center from 1973 - 1976 and obtained a joint appointment as a Research Associate Professor of Medicine in 1980. He coauthored three textbooks, two in numerical analysis and one in differential equations, in addition to many other research papers. He retired from UNM as a Full Professor in 1986 and joined Sandia National Laboratories as a manager of an applied math group. While at Sandia, his passion for education led him to head up a statewide high school program called Adventures in Supercomputing. He retired from Sandia in 1998. Richard enjoyed traveling, photography, working crosswords and playing duplicate bridge. He was a dedicated runner and always made time for running as part of his daily routine. It broke our hearts to lose him but we know he is at peace and in a better place. He brought many happy moments into our lives and left us with many good memories. He will be deeply missed. The family wishes to thank the caregivers at Montebello for their care and many kindnesses as well as the Ambercare Hospice team for their support. Cremation has taken place. JOHNSON, MARTHA JO (JODY) Martha J (Jody) Johnson passed away quietly on November 12, 2013 at the age of 81 at Grand View Care Lodge Assisted Living, in Grand Junction, Colorado. Jody was born in Selfs, Texas, September 26, 1932 to William A. Brown and Betty Mae (Bell) Brown. In 1949 she graduated from Honey Grove High School in Texas with a letter in tennis. In 1950 she moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico, where she worked for a finance company and then for the Atomic Energy Commission (also known as Sandia National Laboratories). There she met and married her husband Sam L. Johnson Sr., December 1951. Jody lived and raised her family in Albuquerque until she was preceded in death by her husband. She is survived by her two sons, Sam L. Johnson Jr. (Grand Junction, CO), and Jonathan Mark Johnson (Phoenix, AZ); daughter-in-law, married to Sam L. Johnson Jr., Cindy Johnson (Grand Junction, CO); and granddaughter Jessica Johnson (Englewood, CO). Jody enjoyed a full life of gardening, golfing, and was an active companion on fishing and hunting trips with her husband and friends. She was a long time reader of history and philosophy. In her words "I have lived a happy and fortunate life" and in our words "We are happy to love her, and that there was time for her to see "Colorful Colorado". There are no services. UNDERWOOD, W. R. &Quot;DUB&Quot; age 101, of Albuquerque, died Friday, November 22, 2013. He is survived by wife of nearly 79 years, Sibyl Underwood; sister, Elizabeth McAnelly; six nephews and two nieces. Dub was a retired consulting engineer and general contractor; retired Capt, US Naval Reserve, having served during WWII. He was a former board member of the NM Boy's Ranch from 1950 to 1971; president of NM Chapter of the Associated General Contractors in 1958; Chairman of the Albuquerque Chapter of the NM Professional Engineers in 1947; member of the City of Albuquerque Building Dept. boards 1950-1962; Planning Commission 1952-1963; member of Local Masonic Bodies; Deacon in Highland Baptist Church since 1975; member of Albuquerque Country Club and avid golfer up until last year at 100 years of age; Active in Albuquerque construction since 1937. Dub was a pilot and flew to his various building project during those years of contracting. He was a very caring man with high integrity, and a friend of all who came in contact with him. Services will be held on Tuesday, November 26, at 2:00 pm, at Chester T. French Mausoleum Chapel at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE, with Pastor John Embry officiating. Entombment will take follow. STUMM, DARLENE 1934 - 2013 This world lost a beautiful and amazing woman Sunday; a woman who made lives better just by her presence. She has finally been reunited with the loved ones who preceded her to eternity: her parents Glen and Ursula, her loving husband Clark, daughters Jackie and Wanda, son-in-law Joe, and grandchild Greg. Her life and legacy will live on through her daughters Dawn (husband Bill) Gamble, Contessa Stumm, Carol Donlin, Chanda Tatum and her brothers Darwin and Glenn. Her memory shall live on through her grandchildren April Taylor (Brian), Andrea Getsie (Ryan), Anthony DeLuca, Thomas Donlin, and Aurora Auwen as well as her great-grandchildren Zachary and Warren Taylor and Delilah DeLuca. She will also be remembered by her many nieces, nephews, and friends. She will be greatly missed.
