DAUM, EDITH F. Age 89, passed away Thursday, November 21, 2013. She was born in Houston, TX on January 18, 1924, to Dock and Ella Ferguson. She has been a resident of Albuquerque since May of 1961. Edith loved her family, animals, birds and traveling. She participated in the flea market for over 20 years where she made lots of friends. Edith loved life and people. She was an avid reader and was very involved in volunteer work she volunteered at Osteopathic Hospital, political campaigns, and voter registration. Edith is survived by her loving husband, Harold Daum; children Mary Ann Jordan and husband Jim, Denise Arnot and husband Mike; grandchildren Jimmy Jordan and wife Kelly, Chontelle Adney and husband Steve, Chris Steffen and wife Julia, Ryan Steffen and wife Tanya; great grandchildren Kirby Jordan, Taylor Jordan and Jacob Steffen and numerous extended family members and friends. DARBY, MICHAEL EDWARD Age 65, a resident of Southern California from 1947-1992 and Albuquerque, NM since 1993, passed on to be with his November 11th, 2013 after 15 years of health concerns. He is survived by his wife Debra Darby; his children: Jason Darby, Shaunna Morales, Colin Darby, Erin Collins, Alysson Darby; and grandchildren: Lorin Darby, Hope Darby, Alyssa Morales; as well as his brother and sister: Patric Darby and Dianne Christeson. Michael was a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather and friend. While serving as a Burbank City Police Officer, he was commended for his valiant, life-saving efforts. He was a well-known and respected member of the banking and lending industries both in Southern California & Albuquerque. Michael served at Hoffmantown Church with the start-up of their support group ministry, helping many people to renew and strengthen their relationships. He enjoyed track, surfing, basketball, golf, and especially, his dogs. The family will accept donations in lieu of flowers to defray funeral costs. A private family memorial service will be held at a later date beside his beloved Pacific Ocean.

CONGLETON, MARVIN LESLIE age 83, born on July 9, 1930 in Wilson County, North Carolina and passed away on Saturday, November 23, 2013 in Albuquerque, NM. Marvin is survived by his wife of 61 years, Pauline Congleton; his sons, Byron Congleton and spouse, Gloria, Meredith Congleton and spouse, Joan; daughter, Paula Congleton and spouse, Allison; one brother, Herman Congleton; one sister, Ann Congleton; four grandchildren; one great grandchild as well as several nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends who loved and will miss him. Marvin served in the U.S. Air Force, at Kirtland Air Force Base. On June 7, 1952 he married Frances Pauline. After retiring from the Air Force, "Marvelous Marv" became a member of the operating engineers and also served as a drummer in the Ballut Abyad Shriner Band. Marvin was a loving father, husband, grandpa and friend to all. A special thank you to the Albuquerque V.A. Hospital Palliative Care Unit for the loving care they gave our Dad. BURKSTALLER-GOODSON, FRANCES Frances Burkstaller-Goodson, 91, of Belen, NM went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on November 22, 2013. She and her husband Harry raised their family in Roswell NM. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Burkstaller and her brother, Ben Childs. Frances married Bernard Goodson of Belen, NM in 2002. They were visiting family in Sun City West at the time of her passing. Frances will be dearly missed and survived by her two children: Linda Fleming of Roswell, NM, Harry Burkstaller, Jr. and Beatrice of Houston, TX; her beloved grandchildren: Kila Hillman of Santa Fe, NM; Tallitha Hillman of Bay Area, CA; Gideon Hillman of Bay Area, CA; Russell Fleming of Bay Area, CA; Tai Fleming of Roswell, NM; her sister, Hermie Davis of Albuquerque, NM; Friend and Caretaker, Carol Rael of Belen, NM; her husband, Bernard Goodson of Belen, NM; his children: Patty Goodson of Sun City West, AZ; Vi Todd of Peoria, AZ; Eillen and Dick Godsey of Kansas City, MO; and John Goodson and Cindy of Belen, NM; his 9 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. BALLEAU, MARILYN ANN age 74, of Clovis, NM, passed away on November 24, 2013 at Plains Regional Medical Center in Clovis, NM. Marilyn was born on December 3, 1938 in Roy, New Mexico to John and Lamoine (Chrisswell) Carpenter. She moved to Albuquerque in the late 1980's. She worked for the Methodist Bishop and retired in 2008. Marilyn was a secretary for the Clovis Schools for twenty years. She was very active in the Methodist Church and enjoyed singing in the choir. She and her husband, George, enjoyed traveling and she was active in PEO. ARCHIBEQUE, JOSE C. Jose C. Archibeque, 85, known to many as Kelly or Joe, passed away peacefully on 27 Nov 2013. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Arabella, and his children Kathy Tollison (husband Jim), Mona Romero, and Bob Archibeque (wife Angela). He was preceded in death by his son Gene Archibeque. Jose served in the US Air Force for 21 years and retired in 1968. During that time he was stationed in Korea, Japan, and Panama, as well as Indian Springs AFB, NV, Malstrom AFB, Montana, and Kirtland AFB, New Mexico. He and Arabella had a wonderful life visiting many places in the world. Grandpa Joe will be fondly remembered by his ten grand- children, Tamarie Bobrowski, Sean Tollison, AJ Romero, Angela Preston, Cassandra Minish, Nikki Harrell, Mia Bullard, Patrick, Jacob, and Isaac Archibeque, and Trip, Ross, and Mark Tollison; and also by his 20 great-grandchildren. She was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico to Abran and Concepcion Alderete. Maria adored her family and loved spending time with them. She is preceded in death by husband Luis Alfaro; sons Claude and David Alfaro; daughter Gloria Alfaro; brother Pete Alderete; and sisters Estella de Luna and Sofia Acosta. VAN DOREN, DEAN CLAYTON SENIOR Lifelong Albuquerque resident Dean Clayton Van Doren Sr. passed away Monday the 25th of natural causes at the age of 74 at the VA Hospital. He is survived by his long time companion Linda Riel; his sons Dean Clayton Vandoren II and fiance LaVonne Cockrell, Stephen Carl Van Doren, Michael Jesse Lewis and wife Evija; and daughter Denise Van Doren. GONZALES, HAROLD Age 73, passed away Monday, November 25, 2013 surrounded by family, after a long illness. Harold is survived by his wife of 43 years, Jimmie; daughter, Amanda Skarsgard and husband, Erik of Las Cruces, NM; son, Christopher Gonzales; grandchildren, Shelby and Austin Skarsgard; sisters, Mabel Hendrickson and husband, Ray and Angie Soto and husband, Sam; brother, Felix Gonzales; and numerous other family members. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jovan and Sylvia Gonzales; brothers, Al and L.J. Gonzales; and sisters-in-law, Gloria Gonzales and Juin Baum. Harold served with the Air National Guard in Korea during the Vietnam War and retired from the United States Postal Service in 1996. He then continued to sell real estate. Harold loved golf, hunting, fishing and the outdoors. He was a truly devoted husband, father, brother and grandfather ("Papa G"). The family wishes to thank the superb nursing and tech staff at UNMH. VALLEJOS, ROSIE MARIE age 66, born May 30, 1947 to Juan and Selsa Vallejos, passed away peacefully Wednesday, November 27, 2013 after a short battle with cancer with her family by her side. She was preceded in death by her parents, Juan and Selsa; her brother, Jose Vallejos and brother-in-law Ralph Martinez Sr. Rosie is survived by son, Matthew; her sister, Ida Martinez; Cynthia Martinez, John, Shari, Jessica and Julia Martinez, Chris, Veronica, Joshua, Andrew, and Brittany Martinez, Derek Castillo; and her great niece Analiyah. As well as many more loved ones and close friends from New Mexico and Arizona. She was a long time bus driver for the Belen schools and retired just 3 years ago. Rosie loved planning the Bus Driver parties at work and retirement parties for other drivers. She was an avid collector of Angels or just about anything with angels on it. Rosie loved her jewelry and wearing something beautiful. Some of her favorite memories are of adventures with her best friend Debbie Rael. Rosie was a member of NEA and volunteered with MADD. Over the last two years Rosie has compassionately stayed by her sister's side helping her through health concerns. All services will be held at the First Baptist Church of Los Chavez, on Tuesday, December 3, 2013, beginning with a viewing at 10:30 AM. MORA, ROBERTO (BOBBY) age 82, a life-long resident of Albuquerque, born on April 26, 1931, passed away on November 29, 2013. Roberto is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Crusita; his children, Connie Koch and husband, Mike, Angela, Jeanette Cook and husband, Jesse Hernandez, Victoria Mora and husband, Tomas Fernandez, Geraldine Lowe and husband, Steve, and Bobby T. Mora; his grandchildren, Stephanie Villanueva -Montoya & husband, Elias Montoya, Elaina Ortiz, Thomas Perea, Brandi Soto and husband, Oscar, Marisol Fernandez y Mora, Alejandro Fernandez y Mora, Robert Dale Lowe, Steven James Lowe; great grandchildren, Arianna, Santiago, Mikaela, Santistevan, Andres, Paula Aaron, Lilli, Oscar Jr.; sister, Lucy; sisters-in-law Josie and Maxine; and many nieces, nephews and friends. Roberto was preceded in death by his parents, Transito and Adelita Mora; sister, Lita; brothers, Manuel and Rudy; brother-in-law George; sons-in-law J.R., Herman and Scott; and grandson, James. Roberto was a member of St. Joseph on the Rio Grande Catholic Church. He proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps, during the Korean Conflict. He had a long career as a firefighter and fire inspector at Kirtland Air Force Base and served with the State Fair Police. After retirement, he drove for Herrera School Buses and Coaches, Inc. He served for many years as president of the Escobosa Riders Club. Roberto will be missed, especially for his warm heart and good humor. David was an avid reader and loved to read the Albuquerque Journal. He loved giving tips and advice to others. He was known for his famous green Ford LTD. David will be greatly missed by his family. KAUFMAN, SYLVIA Age 94, passed away Monday, December 2, 2013. She was born October 19, 1919 to Nathan and Kate (Bergenfeld) Beres of Brooklyn, NY. A resident of Rio Rancho, NM for the past 18 years, she will be remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend who, also enjoyed reading, watching game shows on TV and eating candy. She and her husband, Joseph, were well known for their love of dancing and going to the theatre. Mrs. Kaufman was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Kaufman. She is survived by her daughters, Arleen Kleinmintz and husband, Leonard, of Rio Rancho, NM, and Debra Kane and husband, Steven Kesselman, also of Rio Rancho, NM; three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a brother, Morton Beres, of Rockville, MD; and several nieces, nephews, and other family members. The Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, December 4, 2013 at Congregation Albert, 3800 Louisiana Blvd NE, Albuquerque, NM. EELLS, LARRY L. age 77, passed away on 11/27/13. Larry was born in Danville, IL and moved to Albuquerque in 1987. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Sharon and beloved son, Tory. Larry is survived by his son, Tim Eells and his wife Diana; three grandchildren, Ashley Sonnenberg, Tyler Eells and Tadd Eells; great-grandson, Joshua Sonnenberg; sister-in-law Donna Brondy; and three nieces, Tiffany, Heather and Amanda. Larry loved life and had many friends. He enjoyed traveling, reading and great cuisine. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
