His parents, Homer, Sr. and Mary Montoya and his younger brother, Patrick, have preceded Homer's departure from this world. Homer is survived by his wife Patricia (Pat) Tomhave-Dodge and his children and their spouse(s) - Marina and Jason Vigil, Barry, Alex and Denise, Christopher and Kurina, Garrett and Jerry and Jodi Tomhave. Additionally, he is survived by his grandchildren: Isaiah and Mia Vigil; Victoria, Valarie, Cherry, Sebastian, Aeneas and Alaina Dodge and Madden Tomhave. Homer is also survived by his brother Harrison Jim and wife Irene. Homer had many "adopted" sons and daughters - far too many to list - about whom he cared deeply. Homer also loved the many pet dogs who shared time with him. Some of their names are Molly, Dodger, Wylie, Nike, Lucky, Dillinger and Bear. Homer graduated from Manzano High School in 1965 and entered the United States Army in 1968. He served in Viet Nam until 1969. Upon returning to Albuquerque, Homer earned his bachelor's degree in business from the University of Albuquerque. He worked as an instructor at SIPI as a Graphics Instructor, was a partner in the Taylor-Dodge Graphics, a printing company, and was the driving force behind Albuquerque Hardwood Floors and working with Homer, Sr., and his sons for over 35 years. Homer loved sports and participated in bowling leagues and tournaments as well as participation in city baseball and senior softball leagues. In addition, he was an avid fisher, hunter, Bronco football and Lobo fan. As a sports fan Homer would attend his children and grandchildren's sporting events. Homer was a member of the VFW Post 401 and Legion Post 13. He served as a member of the House Committee at the VFW and volunteered whenever he could at both Posts. There will be a memorial and celebration of Homer's life on Friday, December 13, 2013 at VFW Post 401, starting at about 3:00 pm. Interment will be at the National Cemetery in Santa Fe in the spring of 2014.
