DOHERTY, JOHN EDWARD John, 59, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, died Monday, December 16, 2013. He is survived by his mother, Josephine Doherty; sisters, Kathleen Doherty and husband, Jon Aase and Patti Doherty and husband, Donald Dean, all of Albuquerque; nephew, Nicholas Aase of Los Angeles, CA; nieces, Caitlin Aase of Chicago, IL, Lara Aase of San Diego, CA, and Alexandra Dean of Albuquerque; as well as his lifelong friend, Mark Mohoric of Albuquerque; and a large and loving extended family. He was preceded in death by his father, Edward Doherty, with whom he shared a career in securities trading and investment banking. In recent years, he participated in the successful start-up of companies in the fields of photovoltaics and biotechnology. He will be remembered best for his sense of humor and generosity. A rosary will be recited Sunday, December 22, 2013, 4:00 p.m., at FRENCH - University. A Eucharistic service followed by interment will be held Monday, December 23, 2013, 10:00 a.m., at Mt. Calvary Cemetery Chapel, 1900 Edith Blvd. NE, with Rev. J. Michael McHugh, Celebrant. Pallbearers will be Jon Aase, Donald Dean, Nicholas Aase, Donald Hanosh, James Hanosh, and Mark Mohoric. Honorary pallbearers will be James Michael, Edward Michael, Timothy Hanosh, and Christopher Hanosh. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
