TRUJILLO, MATTHEW LAWRENCE Our beloved father, grandfather, uncle, companion and friend, passed away in his home in the early morning of Christmas Eve, December 24, 2013. He was 76 years of age. He served our country as a corporal in the United States Marine Corp at the beginning of the Vietnam War and was a Master Rifleman. He retired from the United States postal service in 1991 after 32 years of service, and being the hardworking man that he was, he immediately began working for the University of New Mexico until he retired in 2008. He was a master automotive mechanic, tinkerer and inventor. He once built an awesome go-cart using a lawnmower engine and a kitchen table and chairs. His daughters were the envy of the neighborhood. He enjoyed going to the casinos, shooting range and tinkering in his garage. He loved his family and friends and he will forever live on in their hearts. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ida and Aquiles, his brothers, Aquiles Jr., Charles, Tony, Richard, Sammy, and John Mark. He is survived by his long-time companion Mary Alice Armijo, daughters and their husbands Yolanda and Peter Sanchez and Marcella and David Meek; his grandchildren Juan Carlos Lopez, Javier Lopez, Alexis Lamb, Andrea Trujillo, Mariah Meek, Peter Sanchez, Jr., and Stephanie Sanchez; and his Great Grandchildren Isaiah Lopez, Mystique Lamb, Jordyn Sanchez, Elias Lopez, Yasmin Samji, Santine Samji, Aubree Torres, and Logan Lopez. Memorial Services will be held on Wednesday, January 8, 2014 at six o'clock in the evening at the University of New Mexico Alumni Chapel. Burial will be held Thursday, January 9th at 10:30 am at the Santa Fe National Cemetery.
