STINEBAUGH, WILLIAM I. In Memoriam William I. (Wild Bill) Stinebaugh September 25, 1925 - January 30, 2013 Almost from the day he arrived, the first child of Ives G. and Clovis M. Stinebaugh of Mosquero, New Mexico, Dad was fascinated with machines; he started a tractor all by himself when he was 2. That fascination led him to motorcycles, go-cart racing (he won numerous trophies), rebuilding two airplanes, working on any number of automobiles, and running a successful well drilling business. He was an inveterate tinkerer and talented designer/machinist. Although he said he didn't enjoy it, he also crafted some fine wood furniture. He served in the US Navy as an MoMM1 in WWII and as an HV/AC and plumbing specialist for the USAF Civil Service. Dad loved puns, the worse the better, dogs and cats, Fords, NASCAR and the wide open spaces which he often toured in one of his planes or motorcycles. He was an independent, one of a kind human being who is sorely missed. His kindness, generosity, humor and strength of character were witnessed by everyone who knew him. He was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Priscilla Maddox Stinebaugh, his parents and stepmother, Alma McGlothlin Stinebaugh Young, brother Gerald, sister C.A. Williams and best friend Andy Stanphill, but is survived by his loving family which includes his daughters Elizabeth (Jodi) Stinebaugh and Mary McCorvy and her husband Charles; his sister Mary Boardman, brother Robert Stinebaugh and his wife Charlotte, and all of his nephews and nieces. We thank all of the caregivers at the VA and at the St. Theresa and St. John Rehabilitation Centers who helped Dad in his final days. You are appreciated, loved and missed everyday. Rest in Peace, Wild Bill!
