Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. CST, Wednesday February 5, 2014, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 1210 SE 11th Ave., Amarillo. Graveside service will be at 1:30 p.m. CST (12:30 p.m. MST) in San Jon Cemetery, San Jon, New Mexico. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd. Fernando was born May 24, 1940, in Mosquero, New Mexico, to Cornelia and Ignacio Vigil. He was preceded in death by his two sons: Joseph and Clifford Vigil, his parents: Ignacio Vigil Sr. and Cornelia Vigil, two brothers and three sisters: Petronillo and Gilbert Vigil, Irene and Carmelita Vigil, and Betsy Cordova. Survivors include his three daughters and one grandchild: Debbie Vigil of New Orleans, Louisiana, Danita Vigil and wife Susan Swann of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Roberta Day and husband Gary of Albuquerque, New Mexico, and Megan Day of Albuquerque, New Mexico; and three brothers and three sisters: Petronillo Vigil of Mosquero, New Mexico, Ralph and wife Isabel Vigil of Mosquero, New Mexico, Ignacio Vigil Jr. and wife Celina of Amarillo, Texas, Eva Ramirez of Amarillo, Texas, Carlotta Martinez of San Jon, New Mexico, and Carmen Ruiz of Clovis, New Mexico.
