MALCOLM, WILLIAM H. Passed away in Presbyterian Hospital, Albuquerque, NM on February 10, 2014 following complications from a fall. A long time resident of Albuquerque, Mr. Malcolm was born February 28, 1929 in Battle Creek, Michigan, and enjoyed his childhood in Sault St Marie, Michigan, only "steps" away from Canada - when the St. Mary's River froze solid in the winter. Interested in aviation from an early age, he earned his pilot license before graduating from high school and was soon drawn toward aircraft mechanical systems, servings a stint in the US Air Force and eventually working as a commercial flight engineer, and private and commercial aircraft mechanic. With over 40 years of experience in commercial aviation, he retired from Continental Airlines in 1998. He is survived by brother, James Malcolm and his wife of Albuquerque; step-daughter and son. Funeral is scheduled for Friday, February 21, 2014 at 2:15pm at the National Cemetery in Santa Fe, proceeded by viewing and remembrance at Daniels Family Funeral Service on 3113 Carlisle NE, Albuquerque, NM 87110. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Eldorado High School Band Boosters.
