O'CONNOR, TED age 63, passed away the week of March 16, 2014 at his home in Los Alamos, NM. His wonderful smile and laughter will be missed by all that knew him. Edmund Ted O'Connor was born in Los Alamos on June 6, 1950. Ted's parents, Leonard Francis O'Connor and Rosemary Hughes O'Connor, preceded him in death. Ted is survived by his family: Leonard C. O'Connor and his wife, Lucia Misa-O'Connor, of Albuquerque; Thomas E. O'Connor and his wife, Carol Redman, of Santa Fe; Rosemary Vigil and her husband, Claudio Vigil, of Corrales; one niece, six nephews, three great nieces, and two great nephews. Ted graduated from Los Alamos High School in 1968. He continued his education at New Mexico State University in Las Cruces, NM. Ted was a skilled brick mason, working in Las Cruces, Albuquerque, Santa Fe, Los Alamos, & Kona, Hawaii. Ted was a talented craftsman who enjoyed building New Mexico style Kiva fireplaces while running his business called Pyramid Masonry based in Albuquerque. Ted also worked with Santa Fe Pro Musica as a member of the stage crew. In high school Ted was a Junior Ski Patrolmen and member of the Los Alamos Ski Racing Team. He was known as "Bear Man" at the Pajarito Mountain Ski Area because of the long fur coat he wore while skiing. He continued to enjoy skiing during his adult life. Ted loved motorcycling, gardening, fixing up his house, and maintaining his mother's home. He also loved the holidays and enjoyed cooking, entertaining and being with family and friends. Ted will be greatly missed and fondly remembered. The family is planning a June gathering to remember and honor Ted. Details will be announced later. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Santa Fe Pro Musica, the Los Alamos Symphony Scholarship Fund or Heifer Project International.
