GAINES, BETTY J. Age 91, of North Richland Hills, Texas, formerly of Albuquerque, N.M. went to be with the Lord on March 17, 2013. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, of 70 years, Albert "Dude" Gaines in 2012. She is survived by her three daughters, Linda Fisher and Marcia Gaines of North Richland Hills, Texas, Barbara Abernethy and her husband Perry of Albuquerque; five grandchildren; and four great- grandchildren; and three sisters, Janice Taylor, Dorothy Bailey and Marian Heusted. She leaves many loving memories to be cherished by her family and friends such as her passion for baking and cooking, playing dominoes and her love for the Lobos! Betty worked as a membership secretary for thirty years in Albuquerque at the Heights Y.M.C.A. and was also active in Bible Study Fellowship and Christian Woman's Club as well as her church, Hoffmantown in Albuquerque. Betty lived in Albuquerque from 1949- 2008 before moving to North Richland Hills, Texas. She also enjoyed volunteering at the election polls for many years as a precinct captain. A private memorial service and celebration of life will be held this summer in Albuquerque.
