Kitty married Larry Uhrich June 14, 1954 in Hartington, NE. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Cabrini Schillig; grandson, Andrew Shoemaker; sister Helen. Kitty is survived by her husband, Larry Uhrich; children, Joe, Terry (Tammy), Jack (Nyki), Catherine Herbert (Patrick), Ed (Gloria); 15 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; siblings, Mary Margaret Sudbeck, Sr. Jane McGowen, Sr. Bernadette McGowen. She was a charter member of St. John Vianney Parish and was a member of "Right to Life" in both Rio Rancho and Eau Claire, WI. Kitty loved to sew, knit and cook. She thoroughly enjoyed spending time with her family. TRAFTON, CLINTON LAVERNE Age 82, passed in his sleep on Sunday, June 29, 2014 at his home in Patagonia, AZ. He is survived by his wife Janie Lawton; sister Conita Thompson of Sun City AZ; sons, Curtis and wife Christina (Alea and Tara), Clinton Mitchell and wife Deborah (Craig and Kelly), and Clay and Sandra (Chase); along with their mother Dorothy Curtis Trafton of Corrales NM; and two great-grandchildren. Clint graduated from Albuquerque High School in 1950, enlisted and served in the US Army during the Korean War, where he was stationed in Seattle, WA, received a BS in Electrical Engineering from UNM in 1959, a MS in Psychology from UNM in 1962, and a PhD in Psychology from the University of Illinois in 1965. He was a professor at Pomona College CA and University of Arizona until he retired from academia in 1980. He enjoyed his life in Tucson, AZ, woodworking, fly fishing and playing tennis, surrounded by his friends, eventually moving to Patagonia, AZ. He was preceded in death by his parents Cedric and Lorraine and his second wife Sara Winter. Memorial services will be held on Sunday, July 20th at 9:00 am at the Patagonia Community Center. TONEY, VALERIE Age 66, died peacefully on June 24th surrounded by loving family members. She was born October 30, 1947 in Lihue, Hawaii to Janet and Bill Toney. She grew up in Artesia and Aztec, New Mexico. As a young woman, Valerie was recognized as co-valedictorian of the 1965 Aztec High School class, delegate to Girls State, and representative from New Mexico at Girls Nation. After being a dedicated young Mom, Valerie received her Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering from California State University Long Beach where she was once again recognized as class valedictorian. She began her career as an engineer in the petroleum refining industry and then transitioned to hazardous material management when she formed her own consulting firm in the 1980's. Her career ended with her retirement from the Los Angeles Fire Department in 2007. Valerie was a strong, energetic, fearless woman - a good mother, a loving sister, and a dedicated grandmother. Her beautiful soprano voice was appreciated by many. Valerie was preceded in death by her brother Bryan and her granddaughter Faith. She will be missed by her three children Rex Zumwalt, Jeffrey Zumwalt (Lorri Zumwalt), and Genevieve Zumwalt; her four grandchildren Jeremy, Tyler, Shelby, and Hannah; sisters Jenilee Woodward (Bill Woodward) & Stephanie Arnold (Gene Arnold); her brother Robert Chinn; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. The family extends its appreciation to the employees of Brookdale Place and Hospice New Mexico for their loving care. A memorial service is planned for July 12th at Hope in the Desert Episcopal Church at 2:00 pm.

TILGNER, EDWIN E. Edwin E. Tilgner, 87, a resident of Albuquerque since 1962, died Thursday, July 3, 2014. He is survived by his two children, Linda Morton and husband, Monty and Mike Tilgner; and one granddaughter, Amy Morton. Mr. Tilgner was born May 13, 1927 in Evanston, WY. He was a longtime employee of Albuquerque Seismic Lab. After retirement, Mr. Tilgner volunteered at NM Museum of Natural History. He was also a private pilot most of his life and spent many hours flying his Cessna 120. Mr. Tilgner was a member of the Quiet Birdmen. STEPHENS, VERNON J. Vernon J. (Steve) Stephens died on July 3, 2014. He is survived by his wife Judith Reynolds; his four children Sherri Stephens Carter (Galen), Sue Taylor (Roger), Catherine Stephens Creamer (Will) and Kevin Stephens (Mary Eastman); ten grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; sisters Dona Hahn and Janet Grudzinski and brother Richard Stephens (Janice). Vern was born in Selah, Washington on July 23, 1927. He married Iris Yearous in Fort Morgan, CO on June 22, 1947. He attended the University of Wyoming and graduated in 1951 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. The family moved to Los Alamos, NM in 1954, where the children all grew up and Vern worked for Los Alamos National Laboratory and Los Alamos Technical Associates. In 1990, Vern and Iris relocated to Albuquerque where Iris predeceased him in 1991. Vernon married Judith Reynolds on November 28, 2004. His family will miss his unique sense of humor and his joy in all of them. Theresa was born in Albuquerque, NM on April 7, 1959 to Priscilla and John Sanchez. She grew up in Albuquerque with her two sisters and three brothers, Johnny, Vicki, Jaime, Carl, and Nora. Theresa became a well known hair stylist and owned her own hair salon, Notorious, in Santa Fe, NM. She was a special soul who was immensely loved by all who knew her. She shared so much joy with her family and friends and lived her life with loving kindness in her heart. Theresa is survived by her husband Gregory Renner; her three daughters, Arika Sanchez; Annie Sanchez, and Erika Everett, her four grandchildren whom she loved dearly, Keali'inoa, Nakea, Kaikala, and Ella Rae; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and goddaughters. There will be a celebration of life at Los Poblanos in Albuquerque on Sunday, July 13th at 4pm.

Henry Proo passed away Jan, 14, 2014 after a long illness in Calipatria, CA. He was born July 15, 1925 in Denver, CO and married Mary B. Nunes on Nov. 2, 1973. Henry served in the Army Air Force during WWII in the South Pacific. After the war, he worked in the grocery store business until his retirement in 1988. Henry was an extremely active member of his church and helped in the Doves, a support group for the widowed and divorced. Henry was a fan of professional wrestling and football. He enjoyed reading and giving out prayer booklets to all he met. A Catholic funeral Mass was held in Old Town's Immaculate Conception Church in San Diego, CA. A cremation burial service will be held at Mount Calvary Cemetery at 10:30 AM July15, 2014 at 1900 Edith Blvd NE, Albuquerque, NM. He was preceded in death by his wife of 22 years, Mary B. Nunes, his parents, Richardo and Clarita M. Proo. His four brothers Richard Proo Jr, Maximino Proo, Alfonso Proo Jr, and Joe Trinedad Proo. Henry is survived by his sister Lucy Alvarez, and her five children, Mike, Anne, Anthony, Christy, and Rita; six sons Max Proo, Ernest Proo, Gabriel Proo, Phillip Proo, Mario Proo, Michael Proo and his daughter-in-law Cass Proo; step-children Mary E. Martinez, Yolanda Mattison, and Michael Nunes; and his care-taking grandchildren Sarah J. Proo, Ernest E. Proo, Susie M. Proo, Cassandra M. KELTON, JULIA PAULINE (POLLY) 1920-2014 Julia Pauline (Polly) Kelton, age 94, passed away on Monday, June 30, 2014 at her home in Belen, New Mexico. She was born to Paul and Leona McComb on January 22, 1920, and was raised in the Manzano Mountains. On March 19, 1938, she married Tom Kelton. They worked on a ranch together outside of Chilili, New Mexico; Tom was a cowboy ranch hand and Julia cooked for all the ranch hands. In 1942 they moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico, as Tom got a job on the Santa Fe Railroad. Tom and Julia moved to Belen in 1965 for a job transfer where she lived for the remainder of her life. She was baptized in the Lutheran Church where she remained active for many years. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Tom; and her daughter, Kathryn Brannon.
