BALCOMB, MARGARET (PEGGY) VAN D. CALVIN Oct. 15, 1930 to Nov. 29, 2006 In dreams I see you laughing Ski poles lifted, poised to fly over the lip and down the slope. Sun on your face, eyes shining, alive. Or I see your tennis racket ready for the next shot, Legs bent for running, eyes intent on the ball. I do not see death or suffering or hear the rhythm of the oxygen machine. I see you as you lived, not as you died. Alive, adventurous, growing in the garden, blooming with joy. Radiant smile, a reflection of your beauty that time, age or sorrow can't dim. You saw death and walked out to greet it, glanced at the fading light and left. In dreams I see you laughing and I am glad One day I too will follow you into the unknowable next. Your family
