WALLACE, KENNETH LEON May 23, 1928 - February 13, 2014 Ken went to his final resting place on February 13, 2014; he has been reunited with the love of his life in time to celebrate Valentine's Day. Ken was raised in East Sumner, Maine, raised his family in Tappan, New York and enjoyed his retirement in Sun City, AZ. In October 2012 Ken moved to Albuquerque, NM to be near his devoted daughter Deb and husband Lynn when he could no longer live on his own. We will be forever grateful for the outstanding care and love he received by the entire staff of the Montebello Assisted Living Home. Ken was preceded in death by his grandparents and parents, his beloved wife Janet (Tompkins) 1987, daughter Laura (Wallace) Kelm 2001, great-granddaughter Elizabeth Dotson 2001, brothers Richard Wallace (2011) and Robert Wallace (2012). Survived by his devoted daughter Debbie (Wallace) Ebbesen and husband Lynn of Albuquerque NM; son-in-law Gene Kelm; grandchildren Lou Dotson, Ty Tricoglou, Kara Kelm; great-grandchildren: Johnny Dotson, Lucas Dotson, Angelique Dotson and Viola Tricoglou. He is also survived by his daughter Cindy and her three children. Visitation will be Friday, March 28th, 2:00-4:00 pm and 7:00-9:00 pm at Pizzi Funeral Home, Northvale, NJ. Deb and Lynn will honor Ken with a Celebration of Life Service on Saturday, March 29th at 12 noon at Pizzi Funeral Home, Northvale, NJ. Ken will be laid to rest with his wife at 1:00pm on Saturday, March 29 in the Tappan Cemetery, Tappan, NY.

VAUGHN, MARIE C. On December 29, 2013, at age 86, Marie Claire Vaughn traded time for eternity. Marie was born November 27, 1927, the only child to Walter Roy & Priscilla Singleton/ Roy. Breaux Bridge, LA was home to her until moving to St. Louis, MO to earn her degree in nursing. Shortly after earning her nursing degree she proceeded to her next stage of life and started her own family. As the demand to relocate to many locations in the U.S.A. and abroad arose, she continued caring for others as an RN as well as caring for the needs and nurturing of her own family. Albuquerque, NM was the final location that she called home. As a resident for 45 years of Albuquerque, where she was employed at Sandia Labs until retiring, but continued in the care for others as a volunteer, taking blood pressures at St. Charles and San Jose Parishes. She was active in community organizations such as NACWC and the Albuquerque African Catholic Community, and spent a lot of time traveling throughout the US, Mexico and Europe. She held season tickets to the UNM Lobo's basketball games and Pope Joy Hall. She attended her grandsons YAFL football games and was always the one who brought food. Many will remember her because of her well-known cooking abilities. A meal from Marie was always in demand. Her favorite place to be was her property at Elephant Butte Lake, along the river. As well as her care she had for others, she was an avid pet lover and was always one to travel with her dogs. She is survived by 3 daughters, Wanda Vaughn, Beverly Vaughn and Priscilla Socall; 3 granddaughters, La Shawna Countee, Amber Pagan and Mercedes Boyd; six great- grandchildren, Tatianna Countee, Todd Countee, Charles Roy Countee, Donavan Dumas, Jyha Dumas and Zylen Pagan. Her life will be celebrated at St Charles Borromeo Church, 1818 Cole Place SE on March 18th with a Rosary at 6pm, and a Mass on March 19th at 10:00 am, followed by a reception. SUPPLE, RICHARD GRAEME Age 82, passed away on Saturday, March 8, 2014 at his home in Angel Fire, NM. Born in South Bend, Indiana, on March 7, 1932, he graduated from Short Ridge High School, Indianapolis, Indiana, in 1950. He was an Eagle Scout. He attained a Mechanical Engineering Degree from Purdue University (1954). He was a Second Lieutenant in the United States Army Ordinance Corps stationed at Remington Arms, Lake Arsenal in Independence, Missouri for two years. He was awarded the Commendation Medal by the Secretary of the Army for the design of a projectile recovery system. Richard's engineering career started in Sales for American Blower Co. in Denver, Colorado. In 1960, he transferred to Albuquerque as Sales Manager. From 1965 to 1994, he was a Chief Technical Officer and then President for Bridgers & Paxton Engineering Consultants. He designed numerous HVAC applications throughout the Southwest. Some of his projects included Presbyterian Hospital, Joseph Hospital, the Albuquerque Convention Center, the Albuquerque Academy, Lovelace Hospital, the Zimmerman Library, the Pit, the New Mexico Space Museum, the Scottsdale Fashion Square and the Albuquerque Plaza. He was the first Father/Son National President of ASHRAE (formerly the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air Conditioning Engineers). In 1994, Richard and Anne moved to the energy-efficient home that he had designed and built in Angel Fire, New Mexico where he became a prominent volunteer with the retirement community. His lifelong passions were golf, tennis, basketball, the Indianapolis 500, reading and playing the piano. He was also an accomplished electrician, flew small aircrafts, rebuilt cars, and designed and built wood furniture. He is survived by his wife, Anne M. Supple; brother, Robert N. Supple and wife Sue; and the following children, grandchildren, and great- grandchildren: Robert C. Supple, his wife Suzanne and their daughters Monet and Michaela Audrey A. Supple, her partner Frank M. Duus and his daughter Penelope Graeme W. Supple, his wife Cheryl, their children Ian, Molly, Kevin and his wife Tiffany and their children Brooke and Sean Richard A. Supple and his children Megan and Jordan Jeffrey J. Supple, his wife Susan and their daughters Sarah, Madison, and Brittney. The family is planning a celebration of his life in mid June.

STARK, ALICE A. Alice Allaire Stark, 92 and a resident of Albuquerque since 1965, passed away on Thursday, March 13, 2014. Born in Spring Lake, NJ, July 2, 1921 to John Albert Marks and Ethel Estelle Wells, she grew up on the Jersey shore, graduating from Asbury Park High School in 1938. She worked for the Jersey Central Power and Light Company in Allenhurst before marrying, then served in the Womens Army Corps during World War II. After the war, she moved around the country with her family, raising six children. Alice later worked for the Selective Service System and at Eldorado High School, ultimately retiring from the US Army Corps of Engineers, Albuquerque District in 1989. She was active in the Episcopal Church, American Business Womens Association, and NARFE. Alice was preceded in death by her husband, Louis Kenneth Stark, in 1974. She is survived by her daughters, Patricia Eads and Beth Stark-Hoeke of Albuquerque and Joanne Stark of Carbondale, CO; her sons, Michael Stark and Lee Stark of Albuquerque and Jon Stark of San Jose, CA; five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and many kids of all ages who knew her simply as "Gram". A visitation will be held on Monday, March 17, 2014 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00pm at FRENCH - University. A service will be held on Tuesday, March, 18, 2014, at 5:00 p.m., at St. Thomas of Canterbury Episcopal Church, 425 University Blvd. NE, with the Rev. Dr. Lin Lilley officiating. Interment will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery on Wednesday, March 19, 2014. SCHERR, MARGARET JOYCE Age 77, a resident of Rio Rancho for the last 18 years, passed away March 4, 2014. She was born in Timber Lake, SD on November 13, 1937 to Jacob and Nettie Scherr. Joyce attended a country school until the 8th grade and then graduated from Timber Lake High School as the valedictorian. She then attended business school for nine months and went to work for the Department of Health, Education & Welfare. She began her career in Pierre, SD and then moved to Chamberlain, SD. She transferred to Albuquerque after that and then moved to Washington D.C. where she retired after a 40 year career. When she wasn't working she loved to travel both here in the states and abroad. Margaret is survived by her five siblings, Mary Alice Salisbury of South Sioux City, NE, Joe Scherr of Gillette, WY, Clara Ann Herman of Timber Lake, SD, Jacob Scherr of Gillette, WY and Irvin Scherr of Sioux Falls, SD. SANCHEZ, MICHAEL ANGELO age 51, was born on November 27, 1962 in Albuquerque, NM and passed away on Thursday, February 13, 2014 in Albuquerque. He was preceded in death by his brother Solomon; his grandparents, Ramon and Fidela Perea, Estolano and Maria Sanchez; stepfather, Valentin Sanchez, as well as several aunts and uncles. Michael Angelo is survived by his mother Flora; sister, Anna Lowe and husband Alan; brother, Paul Sanchez and wife Marlene; children, Anna, Angelina and Andrea; grandchildren, Rozzi, Cayden and one grand baby on the way; aunts, Josephine and Rebecca; his nina, Canda; nieces, Kate, Danielle and Melody; nephews, Brandon, Ayden and Brian; many cousins as well as many other family members and friends who loved and will miss him very much. Michael Angelo honorably served his country in the Air National Guard. He enjoyed playing guitar and played Mass services for many parishes. RICCI, MARIA DOMINICA DELNERO passed away at St. Theresa's Healthcare in Albuquerque, NM on Thursday, February 27, 2014 at the age of 93. Maria was born April 1, 1920 to the late Lena and Vittorio DelNero in Philadelphia, PA. Maria moved to California in 1941 where she raised her two sons until she relocated to New Mexico in her later years. Maria was a beautiful woman who spent some time modeling in California. She worked as a hostess at the famous brown Derby restaurant in the 1940's as well as hob-knobbed with many movie stars at the LA Coconut Grove restaurant. Maria loved to cook and was extremely kind-hearted. She worked in the children's nursery at Paradise Hills United Methodist Church for many years. Her Sunday School Alpha class will especially miss her. Maria devoted herself to taking care of her own mother until her mother passed. Maria is survived by sons Richard Ricci and Primiano (Ron) Ricci; her sister, Ida Wright; by her niece; a grand-nephew; and a great-grand-nephew; as well as many other family members and friends who loved and will miss her greatly. RAJALA, ROBERT EDWIN &Quot;BOB&Quot; Age 75, of Ironwood, MI, and resident of Albuquerque since 1972, died March 10, 2014 at home with his family by his side. He is survived by Ann, his wife of 53 years. He is also survived by his sister Annette; brother Russell; sons Eric, Bruce and Brian; and four grandchildren Bradley, Lynn, Alexis and Raquel. He was preceded in death by his parents Edwin and Irene; sisters Marilyn and Janice; and his brother Richard. Bob began his career in 1958 in the US Air Force and went to work as an electronics engineer in both scientific and industrial applications until his retirement in 2007. He passed his love of engineering, design and computers on to his sons, all of whom work in the field. He also loved wood working, fishing, hunting and target shooting. For many years he supported the youth and community of Albuquerque as a member of the Evening Optimist Club. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. PRIETO-KEIM, CHRISTOPHER Christopher Prieto-Keim 30, of Onterio, CA died Tuesday, March 11, 2014 in Onterio, CA. The family has chosen to hold a private memorial. Chris was born June 17, 1983 to Selina G. (Simpson) and Russell Keim in Amarillo, TX. Christopher was raised in Portales, NM by Selina and Alan Roberts. He graduated from Portales High School in 2001. Chris loved the outdoors. Many of the activities Chris found happiness in included riding his bike, camping, and hiking. He and his family enjoyed many camping trips together. He was proficient in firearms and enjoyed outshooting his Dad on occasion. Chris had a passion and a gift for working with animals. He and his extremely well trained Pit Bull, Bella, were inseparable. Chris worked as a Veterinary Technician at California Veterinary Specialists in Onterio, CA. Survivors include Julian Prieto of Onterio, CA; mother and father Alan and Selina Roberts of Portales, NM; sister Erika (Keim) Crawford of Albuquerque, NM; sister Emily Roberts of Portales, NM; brother Sam Roberts of Portales, NM; father Russell Keim, of Virginia; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Chris is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Florence LaNell (Rolston) and Jimmy Wayne Simpson, of Portales. PINO, EUGENE A. Eugene Albert Pino was born to Mr. and Mrs. Estevan Pino Sr., the youngest of four brothers on Feb. 24, 1951 in Las Animas, CO. He attended school at Columbian grade and Jr. High school in Las Animas, CO before relocating to Albuquerque, N.M. in 1965. He attended Wilson Jr. High school in Albuquerque until he was diagnosed with Schizophrenia, a debilitating disease. He was forced to drop out of school and resided with his parents until his father's death in 1982. He lived with his mother until he was placed in a nursing home in 2013. His death came on Saturday, March 8th, 2014. Eugene was a loving soul, always in prayer. He loved his family deeply. He fought and lived through his illness in silence until his call for eternal rest. We will miss his silence but always his jolliness. Rest in peace my brother. He is survived by his mother Efren C. Pino; three brothers, Estevan Pino Jr., (Bertha), Andrew Pino, (Jeanne) and Alfred Pino, all residents of Albuquerque and Rio Rancho, NM. PEEL, JACK Jack Peel, hiker extraordinaire, and Trail Watch Volunteer for Open Space of Albuquerque, died Wednesday, March 12, 2014. He is survived by his much loved wife, Regina. He is also survived by his favorite relatives, sisters-in-law Maureen Marcilla and Rebecca Peel; brother-in-law Gerald Foley; nieces and nephews Regina and Eric Trujillo, Sam and Grace McCoy, Joe and Elizabeth Marcilla, Fernando and Kate Marcilla, Courtney Hallman, John and Sherry Foley, Elizabeth and Michael Carracini, and Peter and Lauren Foley. Jack was born in Galesburg, IL to Kenneth and Thora Peel. He was a graduate of the University of Denver and worked for Continental Airlines and Zeon Signs. Jack was a cheerful, very positive man. PAUL, FREDERICA &Quot;FREDDIE&Quot; February 25, 1926 - March 9, 2014 Beloved wife, stepmother, grandmother, aunt and friend, Frederica "Freddie" Paul died Sunday, March 9, 2014 after a month-long illness. She is survived by her husband, Howard C. Paul of Albuquerque, and three stepchildren, Kathy Paul (Seattle), Howard Paul Jr. (Houston), and S. Eric Paul (Houston). Freddie was the proud and loving grandmother of four grandchildren, Adam Byrd, Stephen Byrd, Bryan Paul and Carolyn Paul. Freddie was born on a farm in Mount Airy, Virginia on February 25, 1926. She was the daughter of Fred and Hallie Stone. She was predeceased by her two sisters, Virginia Snavely of Waynesboro, Virginia and Hallie Marie Stone Nuckols Oakes, of Mount Airy, Virginia. Freddie graduated from Radford College (now Radford University) in 1947. She taught social studies and coached basketball for four years, and then worked in the Personnel Department at Thalheimer's Department Store in Richmond, Virginia and at an insurance company. In 1958 she went on to work at The Bank of Virginia, where for 21 years, she was executive secretary to a bank Vice President who eventually became President and then Chairman of the Board. Freddie married Howard Paul on June 4, 1979 in Richmond, Virginia and moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico. A loving Christian, Freddie was active in women's work and Bible study at La Mesa Presbyterian Church. She was an avid reader. Following Howard's retirement, Freddie and Howard traveled extensively, visiting over 60 countries on five continents. Freddie was a gracious hostess, opening her home to visitors from all over the United States, and to many Presbyterian brothers and sisters from Cuba. She loved discovering new parts of New Mexico and enjoyed introducing guests to her adopted state. Freddie was kind, compassionate, generous and caring. She was much loved and will be missed by all who knew her. A Memorial Service was held Saturday, March 15, 2014, 11:00 a.m. at La Mesa Presbyterian Church, 7401 Copper NE, Albuquerque, NM 87108. MINGUS, ELAINE Elaine Mingus was born in Columbus, Ohio, on February 26, 1926 and left this earth on February 12, 2014 just shy of her 88th birthday. She spent many years passionately involved in the James Joyce community and and self-published three books in the last two years of her life. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Williams and two daughters, Jennifer Irvine and Billie Jo Menges. She is survived by four daughters: Laura Ferrary, Jacqueline Dalmy, Peggy Diehl and Sharon Thomas; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
