GUTIERREZ, CAROLYN (BEBE DELWICHE) At the young age of 59 our beloved Carolyn has passed from this world into the arms of our Lord and Savior on February 22, 2013. She no longer has to suffer the pain of cancer, but will enjoy everlasting peace in heaven. She was born in Albuquerque on September 23, 1953 and was the fifth daughter of nine children born to Walter and Evangeline Delwiche. She is preceded in death by them and her brother, Walter Delwiche Jr. She is survived by her husband, Benny Gutierrez of 42 years; two daughters, Heather and husband, Tim Jones and Sabrina Gutierrez (Jerry); sisters, Anna Gutierrez, Shirley Gallegos (Gene), Lois Hudgins (Roland), Dorothy Larranga (Jerry), Laura Delwiche (Peter), Eleanor (Kitter) Delwiche; brother, Frank Delwiche (Theresa). Carolyn's joy in life were her grandchildren, Anthony and Aubry Garcia, Sienna and Genevive Lucero. In her final days she was happy and sad to hear that she was going to have another grandchild and her first great-grandchild, both to be born at the end of 2013. She leaves them with all her love. Carolyn was loved by her family, a multitude of aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins and dear friends. She gave so much in life; her laugh, her smile, her willingness to do for others even in her last years of illness. She was an extraordinary woman and we will miss her dearly. She worked in the field of dentistry most of her life working for Dr. Alfred Lopez DDS, Dr. Mark Pollock DDS nad Dr. Theron Burke DDS at Peach Tree Dental. We want to thank Presbyterian Hospice, especially nurse Mirissa Simpson and caregiver, Theresa Jorden. They were a godsend. Carolyn was a devoted Christian and attended Legacy Church. To celebrate this beautiful woman and thank God for giving all of us the wonderful gift of her life, we will honor her last wish that her family gather together and reminisce her life. A private ceremony will take place at a later date. Riverside Funeral Home, 225 San Mateo NE is in charge of cremation.

Obituary for SERNA

SERNA, KATHLEEN &Quot;KATIE&Quot; passed away on Saturday, February 16th surrounded by friends and family. She was 58 years old, but lived every moment of her life with a deep passion and unsurpassed joy. She was born on September 12, 1954 to Tomas and Librada Serna, in Albuquerque, NM. She was one of twelve children. Katie had many friends throughout her life, and everyone agrees that, from childhood onwards, she was a vivacious and good-humored woman, in possession of that rare spark of life that indelibly inspired everyone she came into contact with. She loved to dance to anything with a beat, especially the music of Michael Jackson and Elvis Presley. She absolutely adored everything about weddings; the cake, the dress, the music, the flowers. She could tell you every detail of her perfect wedding, except for the groom, whom she didn't seem to be too particular about. She said "I love you" to almost everyone, and meant it every time. Perhaps most remarkably, Katie had the scarce and precious gift of inherent and unquestioning compassion, and she had it in spades. She is survived by her siblings: Raymond Martinez, Lupe Cote, Lawrence and Sara Chavez, and Benny and Teresa Matlock. Michael Jackson once said "If you enter this world knowing you are loved and you leave this world knowing the same, then everything that happens in between can be dealt with." Katie, you were loved and you will continue to be loved. See you later, Alligator. The Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, March 2, 2013, at 10:00 am at Riverside Funeral Home, 225 San Mateo NE.
